About this event
Over the winter, the Misery Bay Region and the autocross and car community lost one of its great members. Gary Neckers, age 56, passed away. Gary was a past RE and Board member for Misery Bay, and an officer in several car clubs in the area. Gary gave a lot of his time, effort and resources to our club. He was one of the first to our events, always helped with course design, and gave all of us someone to chase after for FTD and PAX. He was always happy to give some advice and scare an unsuspecting rider. Beyond our club, Gary and his 24 Hours of Le Mans Commemorative Edition Corvette were a familiar sight at most of the regions within 3 hours from his home in western New York.
To celebrate Gary, and all he's done, we are holding a Memorial event on Sunday April 28th in his honor. All the proceeds from the event will be going to a charity of his family's choosing. So, if you remember Gary, and had the priviledge to chase him and his vette, please come out to celebrate.
The saturday prior to the memorial, the 27th, Misery Bay will be holding a test and tune. The test and tune is not a scored event. It's a chance to come out, fine tune your driving and car setup, test out the changes you made over winter, and blow out some cob webs prior to the official season opener. There will be a discount for doing both days (the discount will not take away from the charity).
