"T-Time" Fall Tour
Saturday, October 14, 2017
Well, tour fans, the next event in the G.O.A.T.S. (Get Out And Tour Series) is ready and waiting to challenge you. On Saturday, October 14, the Chicago Region's “T--Time Tour” will provide you with an exciting backroads route with just the right amount of driving - so you’re not tired when you’re done - and an end point for a mid-afternoon lunch, where we can visit with our fellow tour mates and enjoy a refreshment or two.
The start point will be Loves Truck Court, Rockton, Ill., at Rockton Rd. and I-90. Check-in will open at 9:00 a.m.; drivers’ meeting at 9:45; the tour will begin at 10:00. The route is an approximately 130-mile drive (3 to 3½ hours) on scenic roads with plenty of turns and elevation changes. There is mid-point stop at Hawks Mill Winery to give everyone an opportunity to enjoy the winery and the views from their estate. The end point will be the Anchor in Newville Wis., advertised as the “Hottest Spot on the Rock.” There will be a social hour with appetizers. If you choose to eat lunch, they offer a variety of pub food and craft beers. So join us for some “T-Time” (no golf carts required)* won’t you? Entry fee is $7 for SCCA members and $10 for nonmembers.
Mark your calendars for October 14, and don’t miss this one. It’s going to be fun on wheels.
* So, why the name? When you drive the tour, you will understand.
