About this event
Join your fellow Roadrunner members with an overnight April 25-26 Route 66 Centennial Celebration Driving Tour.
We’ll make stops along Route 66 at the Lewis Antique Auto & Toy Museum in Moriarty, the ghost town Cuervo, a tour of the Route 66 Auto Museum ($4 each) in Santa Rosa, Route 66 Monument and wall murals in Tucumcari with an overnight stay at the historic Motel Safari in Tucumcari.
There’ll be a group dinner at the nostalgic Del’s Restaurant in Tucumcari and a group photo with our Porsches at the Motel Safari with their Camel neon sign lit up.
After breakfast the following morning at Carlson Coffee Company, you’re on your own as you make your way back home. You may even wish to continue your Route 66 trip east into Texas and beyond for more, rich Route 66 history.
The Safari Motel has set aside all fourteen of their rooms for us. After registering on MSR, members must call the motel at 575-461-1048 to book your room before they are released to the public beginning April 12. Identify yourself as a Porsche Roadrunner Region member. If you are a Veteran or First Responder, use code THANKYOU for your room discount. If all rooms get taken at the Motel Safari before you make reservations, the Blue Swallow Motel is kitty-corner across the street and may have availability, but the sooner you call, the better your chances of securing a room. This drive will sell out! Register on MSR https://pcaroadrunner.motorsportreg.com/ so we know who is coming, then book your reservations today.
We hope you can join us on this driving tour to celebrate 100 years of adventure and exploration along Route 66 in New Mexico!
