About this event
RMR July DE Cookin' on the Plains
July 16-17
Summertime, and the time’s right for D.E.
Tires are squealin’, and the temperature’s high
Oh, your car passed tech, and your Porsche’s good-lookin’
So put on your helmet, come and drive!
* With apologies to George and Ira Gershwin
Cookin’ on the Plains DE High Plains Raceway July 16-17 The Cookin’ on the Plains High Performance Driver Education event will be on July 16 and 17 at High Plains Raceway. Maybe you caught the track “bug” during our April DE event, or are you just looking for serious track time without the early-season crowds? What better way to spend a great July weekend than learning to drive your car the way it was intended, in a safe environment, with zero chance of speeding tickets? Warm days, hot track, lots of track time, great driving instructors and a great time are in store, along with a Beer:30 and a tasty BBQ dinner on Saturday awaiting you. You can choose either or both days, whatever fits your schedule and inclination. Of course, the more time on the track, the more the fun, and the more you learn. All makes and models, even those “lesser marques,” are invited, but convertibles must have rollover protection, and SUVs can be from any manufacturer, so long as the models are Cayenne or Macan. Please note that the PCA helmet requirements have changed and Snell SA2010 or M2010, or later, is now required. Check MotorsportReg.com for more details. Registration opens on May 16. If you have questions, please contact your co-chairs Brian Lay or John Sims for further details. Brian’s contact is:brian.g.lay@gmail.com. John can be reached at john.b.sims@gmail.com
