FSR Advanced HPDE-Club Race Weekend/VIR

Virginia International Raceway

About this event

Join PCA for our advanced HPDE at the world-famous VIR full course in Alton, VA 20-22 March 2026.

Friday and Saturday are standard format HPDE sessions (a single, advanced, run group) between the Club Race events open to advanced drivers only (typically PCA red and black group drivers).  This will be passing anywhere with a point-by.  On Sunday we have open track (only) for approximately 4 hours after the enduros are over.  You can sign up for the full weekend for $850 or Sunday only for $250; an amazing value!

VIR full course offers a little bit of everything, long straights, tight and technical corners, high-speed corners, and elevation changes that add to the exciting experience. VIR also offers fuel stations (including high-octane racing fuels), large, paved paddocks, and a restaurant. VIR events usually sell out quickly so register early!

Registration Fees:

  • Friday, Saturday and Sunday:  $850
  • Sunday open track only: $250
  • SWAG - TBD

This is a non-spectator event therefore everyone attending must be registered and wearing the appropriate PCA supplied wrist bands for the event.  VIR gate entry wristbands are not PCA issued wristbands.

Volunteers and Crew members: Crew and friends/family must be registered for the event in MSR before registration closes, with their name, contact info, and signed SpeedWaiver.  Each registrant will need their own MSR account with a unique email address.

Lunch Time Parade/Charity Laps.  Friends, family, volunteers, and crew members may drive Charity Laps in any car that is in suitable condition (won't leak or drop parts on the track) and has seatbelts for every occupant.  This is a great way to enjoy a highway speed tour of the track and lasts approximately 20 minutes.  Donations collected go directly to designated charities.

VIR Policies. Our hosts at VIR appreciate that FSR participants, crew, and event staff are typically considered courteous and knowledgeable of their specific rules before showing up at their facility.  Please read these policies at  VIR Policies.  Remember--camping in your race car trailer is still considered "camping" and the VIR camping fee must be paid in advance at the gate.

*You will be placed in the BLUE run group.  No you have not been demoted!*

Schedule: TBD and subject to change based on race schedule

Event requirements

A PCA Tech form is required. It must be signed by the inspector and driver. There is NO SELF TECH for this event.
  7. Tech Form: 2025-NationalDE-TechInspectionForm-VIR(17Jan25).docx
  8. PCA Club Race cars entered in the PCA club race weekend with current and valid annual Tech inspections can show their logbooks to the Tech inspectors and will not require a Tech form.
  9. Participants must wear a SNELL SA  2015 or 2020 approved helmet.  All open/convertible car drivers (including Cabriolets) must wear face shields or goggles.

All open cars, including cabriolets and Boxsters, must have an approved roll bar mounted at least two inches above the driver’s helmet.   Until an approved after-market solution is found, many older Boxsters with taller drivers will not meet the requirement and not qualify for participation. Roll hoops do not meet track specifications.  Roll hoop extensions for older Boxsters are available from Brey-Krause.  Factory pop-up deployable roll-over systems do not meet VIR requirements--you must have "fixed" roll-over protection.
  13. All open cars, Targas and 914’s must run with tops up unless they have a full roll cage and any open car requires arm restraints and eye protection to be worn.

  22. Medical Transport: I also understand that in the unlikely event a driver, crew member, or guest is transported to a medical facility via ambulance or helicopter, and PCA is billed by the track, PCA will forward the invoice to the registered driver for reimbursement by check  for any medical transport services.
  23. "Porsche Club of America" is a private, not-for-profit organization.  It reserves the right to deny the acceptance of any Driver's Education application, or to revoke any application previously accepted, for any reason or no reason, except that it will not deny or revoke a Driver's Education application solely on the basis of race, creed, color, sex or national origin."
