Join your FSR friends on Saturday April 11th for an epic 130 mile adventure on fantastic twisty roads traversing the farming country of southeastern Virginia and North Carolina. We will travel on back country roads as we make our way through Isle of Wight County, Suffolk, Franklin, Southampton County and all the way into North Carolina.
The route provides over 3 hours of driving, starting at the Windsor Burger King, (not the Smithfield Burger King like last year). The first part of the drive covers approximately 70 miles and heads north towards Smithfield on some very twisty roads. Then, we head south taking a break in Ivor before continuing on some fun roads until we stop for lunch. We’ll have a long break at the HUBS Vine Restaurant and Store in Franklin where you can have a great meal and pick up some of the famous HUBS gourmet peanuts known around the world. After lunch, we will continue our drive for approximately 61 miles by heading south into North Carolina where we’ll experience some very special twisty roads. We’ll then go north, back to Windsor were we’ll end the route on a fantastic encore of twisty pavement.
For those who may not wish, or have the time, to complete the entire route, there is the option of driving only the first part and heading home after lunch. This can be indicated when you register and a dedicated group will be organized for these individuals.
We will gather at 9:00 AM in the parking lot of the Burger King Restaurant located at 59 W Windsor Blvd, Windsor, VA 23487.
After check-in and a Participants Safety Briefing, we'll begin departing at 9:45AM.
The mid-point and lunch venue will be HUBS, The Vine Restaurant, located at 1459 Armory Dr in Franklin, VA 23851. Everyone will be able to order from the menu, and purchase some of HUBS famous peanuts, and pay your own tab.
After the drive is over, and if you still want to hang out and reminisce about the drive, we’ll hop over to Redds filling station just east of the Burger King on Rt. 460. Redds has an outdoor bar, corn hole, putt-putt, TVs, ice cream and additional food if desired. Redds Filling Station is at 20 West Windsor Boulevard, Windsor, VA 23487.
The registration deadline is April 7th. Please indicate if you will be joining us for just the drive (whole or just the first half), just the restaurant, or both, and the number of people who will be dining in your group. There is limited seating in our reserved restaurant area so please register as soon as possible.
The primary route instructions will be provided by Ride with GPS and the route link will be sent via email before the event.
We hope you can join us for what is sure to be an exciting and long drive, a great meal, and sharing a good time with your FSR Porsche friends.
This event is open to PCA members only. We welcome our neighboring and not so neighboring Region members to join us.
Event requirements
We will be using Speedwaiver to complete the PCA Insurance Waiver process. You'll receive the link on the confirmation page and in the confirmation email, so be looking out for that and please complete it right after you register. The same goes for your passenger(s).
All attendees must sign, so if you have guests on your registration, PLEASE FORWARD THE LINK TO THEM so that they can sign as well. The PCA Event Waiver must be signed in advance through the SpeedWaiver system.
