PCA First Settlers & Potomac Regions present: The Dead President's Tour, Charlottesville, VA on August 13-15, 2021.
Welcome to the joint First Settlers & Potomac Regions' Dead President's Tour!
Charlottesville and the Piedmont Region are home to many Presidential estates such as Monticello, Montpelier, fantastic shopping, great restaurants, outstanding wineries, and some of the best roads in Virginia. We're planning a diverse set of activities including historic tours, scenic drives, wine tasting, fine dining, and quaint towns.
This tour will be designed to keep everyone safe. We want to minimize the risks to both participants and the wonderful folks we meet on Tour. We hope the food, drink, activities, fun people and destinations will help achieve that.
We will stay at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains for two nights at the Boar's Head Resort - the only AAA Four Diamond resort in Charlottesville. Enjoy a warm and intimate ambiance with southern hospitality, a luxury spa, scenic hikes, outdoor pools, multiple restaurants and bars. We have negotiated a significant reduction in room rate at the Boar's Head. CONFIRMED Tour participants can book rooms for $185/ day. (Rates normally start ~$300/ day.) Once your registration status has been "Confirmed", we'll email the link to this group rate. Please do not try to make a reservation before being Confirmed and receiving this link.
FRIDAY August 13th, 2020
Participants from FSR will travel on their own to the Boar's Head Resort. There will be no organized caravan on this part of the trip. Feel free to coordinate with other members, but the drive will not be an official FSR drive.
Friday evening will start with a mixer event in the bar to meet and greet our Potomac Region neighbors. Tour Dinner options are being researched for the Friday evening.
SATURDAY August 14th, 2021 AM
Our Saturday agenda starts after breakfast with a short drive and tour of Montpelier, home of our 4th President, James Madison. We will be guided through a one-hour tour that takes us through his personal and professional life. You will learn how he lived and entertained with his wife Dolley, how he came to be known as the "Father of the Constitution," his role in creating the Bill of Rights, and his worst regret, Slavery.
We will then drive to a restaurant for lunch.
SATURDAY August 14th, 2021 PM
Saturday afternoon is Porsche Time! We have designed a driving route that guarantees mile upon mile of smiles. Mountains and valleys, with switchbacks, zigs and zags to satisfy your inner Porsche.
We will visit the famous Devils Backbone Basecamp Brewery, Distillery and Meadows on our way to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway back to the Boar's Head. Check out the amazing camp facilities and offers here www.dbbrewingcompany.com/location/basecamp
SATURDAY August 14th, 2021 EVENING
FREE EVENING. You will be free to visit any of the vast array of excellent restaurants in the area. We will provide some recommendations.
SUNDAY August 15th, 2021
Sunday is a free day for everyone. You can visit other local attractions, lounge at the resort or head for home. There will be an informal invitation to meet at a winery for brunch/ lunch before you head for home.

Costs: Initial Registration cost is $50 per person and CHARGED WHEN YOU ARE CONFIRMED on the Tour. Further costs for tour items and/or meals (i.e. Friday evening dinner) may need to be added, but all confirmed participants will be advised ahead of billing. Final billing of credit cards will be completed one month before event start.

FSR COVID procedures and local Virginia regulations will be adhered to.
***Like most of our other events, participation in this event requires the signing of two waivers. One is the PCA insurance waiver (signed on site). The second is the PCA Communicable Disease Exposure (CDE) waiver. There is a new CDE Waiver that is good until 28 Fenruary 2022. If you haven't submitted a new one since this March, then please bring a signed copy with you to this event. If you have submitted a new one, you don’t need to re-submit. It’s actually less effort for us (we have to track them) if you only submit once. Download the updated waiver HERE.

APPLICATIONS/ACCEPTANCE
- You do not need to be a PCA member to participate, but you must be at least 21 to visit certain venues on this tour.
- Portions of this event have limited capacity to accommodate the venue's facilities, and for the safety of all participants. (late registrations are risky due to capacity). Watch this event page for revisions.
- We will notify you of your status by email. You are responsible for updating your profile in the MotorsportReg.com website to include your current contact information.
- We initially list all registrants as “New”, or "Waitlisted" if the event is filled to capacity. When possible, we will change your status as soon as possible. We will provide formal notification of acceptance into the event by email prior to the event. If you haven’t received any notification, check your MSReg Dashboard page for your status.
- Due to limited capacity of the event venue, walkups are discouraged from attempting to join the event.
IF YOU CAN'T PARTICIPATE, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CANCEL.
CANCELLATIONS
- If you must cancel, please be courteous and cancel as soon as you can in order to allow others from the wait list to attend.
- Cancellations after July 31st will incur a cost. See Refund details below.
- Cancellations for hotel accommodations are per the policies of The Boar's Head Resort, please visit https://www.boarsheadresort.com for details.
- If you cannot cancel online, you must notify the Registrar by email and receive an ACKNOWLEDGMENT by email to verify that you have canceled.
PAYMENT
- FSR accepts only credit cards for payment for this event. You are responsible for maintaining VALID CREDIT CARD INFORMATION in your profile.
- Billing problems result in notification by email with limited time to resolve the issue due to the short billing period. If the issue is not resolved, we may cancel you from the event.
- Credit card and billing information uses secure connections and is protected by MotorSportReg.com. You are the only person who has access to your card number. We only see the last four digits for billing purposes.
- Hotel accommodations & payment for services must be made directly through The Boar's Head Resort.
REFUND
- Refunds for hotel accommodations are per the policies of The Boar's Head Resort, please visit https://www.boarsheadresort.com for details.
- Contact the Registrar to discuss special circumstances. THE REGISTRAR IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAN AUTHORIZE A REFUND OR CREDIT FOR AN EVENT.
- There will be no refunds of the registration fee ($50 per person) for cancellations after July 31st.
- Refunds for cancellations after August 2nd are at the discretion of the Registrar.
