SCCA Annual Technical Inspection Procedures (Test Day Only)
Blackhawk Farms Raceway
Thursday May 12, 2011
Hours are 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Last tech will be started no later than 4:00 PM or at inspector’s discretion
If you are not in line at closing time your vehicle will not be eligible for “Annual Tech” until tech officially reopens for the event at 6:00 PM. If your car is brought to the line after 4:00 PM you may leave it, however once regular event tech opens others behind you may pass your position if you are not present, properly registered and ready to be teched. Race engines may not be run past 5:00 PM on weekdays.
Annual tech is only available for cars/drivers that are entered as participants in the Thursday Blackhawk Farms Track Test Day. You will be able to complete your “event tech” at the same time. A card will be given to you confirming that your car/logbook/gear are all in order. The card must be exchanged during posted tech hours for your tech sticker after you have completed SCCA registration and have been issued the event credential. You will not be allowed on track without this exchange. We will ask you to also turn in the tech inspection card given to you at registration.
One line will be formed for all functions on a first come first served basis. Your place in line may be held by the vehicle, a crewmember or a piece of support equipment for one on-track session only. Multiple places must be held individually (in other words one golf cart does not hold the position for everybody under the canopy) We realize that you will have alternating sessions on track and we don’t want you to miss an on-track session or lose a position in the tech line that you have held for a long period of time. When your session is over, you may resume your place in line, one time or at the discretion of the tech officials. Every effort will be made to accommodate “new logbook” inspections without jeopardizing the annual techs. As new logbook inspections can be very lengthy, it would be helpful if we know in advance to expect your car.
If you are in the middle of tech when an on track session is scheduled to begin, it is your decision to complete the inspection or leave to participate with your group. If you leave we will retain your logbook and tech card and resume your tech from the place where it was stopped. You may be required to wait in line to resume the process.
These are procedures, not rules. They are not governed by the GCR or the Supps. Departure from the procedures will not result in actions or penalties and nothing about them can be protested. However “Annual Tech” is a required SCCA function and the GCR as it relates to your vehicle and equipment will apply. It is expected that the essence of the SCCA and the GCR, with appropriate protocol will be adhered to at all times.
As the Chief Steward of the event I will be available during the posted hours. My responsibilities and authorities will be in effect as they are outlined in the GCR.
This is an effort to provide a service to our competitors that we think will be well received. It is also an attempt to relieve some of the burden from our scrutineers at the first National Event/s in the Division. I would like your feedback about the usefulness of the service with your recommendations for the future.
Paula Spencer
Chief Steward
