About this event
Come join us at the best autocross venue in all of Western NC! With nearly 5 acres of complete flat, completely smooth, and completely unobstructed ashphalt, the Jerry Sutton Public Safety Training Center is easily the best local venue HSCC has ever had access to. The 2023 Day Series will consist of 13 events over 7 days. You must compete in a minimum of 7 events to be eligible for a championship trophy, which will be decided based on points scored in your best 7 events. The morning and afternoon are each separate events.
The morning event is limited to 60 participants. The goal is to ensure the event ends with enough time to have a lunch break between events.
The afternoon event is limited to 75 participants.
We will continue to try to have at least 6 runs per event (12 total for the day). However if the event is full, there may be fewer runs.

Event Day Important Information:
Everyone should plan to paddock your car up on the hill (see layout below). When you pull in, make a right, drive up the hill, and park on either side of the road. The bottom parking area is reserved for people with trailers or those setting up the event.
It can be difficult to hear the announcements up on the hill, so make sure you get to the driver’s meetings on time, as well as the novice walkthrough. The morning driver’s meeting is at 9:30am (novice walkthrough at 9:10am). And the afternoon driver;s meeting is at 1:15pm (novice walkthrough at ~12:50pm). Everyone must be at the driver’s meetings or you will not be able to participate in the event.
When we have 50+ in the morning event, we cannot gaunrantee a break between the morning and afternoon events. If this is the case, there will not be time to leave the site for lunch. Please plan accordingly.
For anyone new to the sport of autocross, we ask that you take a detailed look at our Novice Guide. If you need help or someone to ride along with you at the event, please find an officer or a novice chief to help you.
Event requirements
Insurance Liability Waiver:
Everyone, including any passengers or spectators, must sign the insurance waiver. Basically, this applies to anyone on the property for the duration of the event. No exceptions.
Minimum Age Requirements:
Drivers must be at least 16 years old and possess a valid, full driver's license (provisional licenses are not acceptable). Kart drivers must be at least 5 years old. Passengers are permitted in the front seat only and they must meet the same requirements as drivers.
Proper car numbers are MANDATORY.
For our events to run smoothly it is essential that we be able to properly identify all vehicles at a glance. If you do not yet have magnetic numbers, you may print your own and tape them to your car. Please visit the Autocross page on our website for a link to print your own numbers.
