Some updates on the DRSCCA/WHRRI Weekend:

1. FRIDAY PRACTICE: Contact the Track Rental agent, Dave Hinman at (248) 202-9186, rental@waterfordhills.com, about the test day scheduled for Friday, May 26. This day is not sanctioned by the SCCA or Detroit Region SCCA.

2. PADDOCK RULES: Please be respectful of each other and others in the paddock. Paddock speed limit is 5 mph and will be enforced. Space in the paddock is limited, so everyone will need to do their best to share space and follow the paddock map in order to best serve all racers. It is recommended to share paddock space and resources so everyone can benefit. Waterford Hills maintains reserved spots in the paddock, and a map is at:  http://www.waterfordhills.com/data/downloads/2021-Paddock-Space-Map.pdf  

   WHRRI uses reserved Paddock space valid for WHRRI club race weekends, defined as Friday 10am through Sunday 6pm.  Every attempt will be made to free up unused reserved spaces and communicate un-reserved paddock spaces for our SCCA guests. The reserved paddock listing will be available at the Timing and Scoring bulletin board.  An updated list of open spaces for each weekend will be posted on the same board on Friday around 10 am to assist guests in finding available paddock spaces.

   Entrants will be limited to 1 support vehicle for this weekend. No bicycles, skateboards, or other pit vehicles are allowed on the Oakland County Sportsman’s Club grounds. All vehicles within the paddock must display an event vehicle decal and be within their designated paddock area or they will be required to be moved outside the paddock.

3. CAR ELIGIBILITY: Competition is open to all cars conforming to the GCR, as amended in the event class list below, to those supplemental classes listed in the 2023 Great Lakes Division Regional Series Rules. All cars are required to use a fully operational AMB TranX260 transponder. The location of the transponder tester is the tech inspection area, and it will be staffed the same hours as the scales. The driver is responsible for providing correct information to Timing & Scoring. Transponders are available to rent from WHRRI, if necessary, for a $50 fee.

2022 T1 Classed Car Eligibility: Cars meeting the 2022 SCCA GCR 9.1.9.1 eligibility requirements for T1 will be allowed to compete in the 2023 T1 Class. Each competitor must carry a copy of the 2022 GCR and maintain full compliance.

SEAMLESS QUALIFYING: Each race group will get their own qualifying session. However, cars stranded off the racing surface will not be retrieved until the end of their seamless qualifying session.

NOTICE TO PARTICIPANTS:  In light of the current COVID-19 situation, every attempt will be made to minimize the risk of exposure to the virus. New processes and procedures will be put into place for events moving forward.

Ultimately, it is your responsibility to assess the risk to you, both on-track and off, and to make the decision on whether or not to participate. If you are feeling unwell or are experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath please stay home.

If you have been in contact with someone who has been experiencing these symptoms in the last two weeks, please stay home. While on site, please take the health and safety of your fellow participants, volunteers and staff into consideration and practice social distancing, wear a mask and wash your hands and/or use hand sanitizer frequently. Please remember:  SCCA races are staffed by volunteers. Any help your race team can provide, even for a session or two will be appreciated.   Please consider helping out in Timing and Scoring or one of the other specialties.
