Ross Bentley
Ross is a performance coach, race car driver, author, and speaker. His performance coaching spans executive/business coaching to sports (athletes and teams in a variety of sports, with a specialty in motorsports).
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Bentley grew up in a racing household (father was a race mechanic, brother a mechanic and driver). He became one of only seven Canadian drivers to race in the CART Indy Car series in the 1990s; he continued his professional career in endurance racing. Bentley won the 1998 GT3 United States Road Racing Championship and the 2003 SRPII Class Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona.
Bentley currently owns Bentley Performance Systems, which focuses on improving the performance of individuals, teams and organizations through coaching, workshops and the development of custom-designed programs. Bentley’s perspective for business performance is based on his background as a high performance athlete and the founder of four successful companies.
Ross has been responsibile for the development of our new classroom curriculum .
10:00 – 10:45 am
Seminar 1: Instructors, Volunteers & Event Planning
Tim Beechuk
You’ve picked a date for your Street Survival program, now what do you do? Where do you find instructors and persuade them to spend a day working with teens? What other volunteers do you need? How do you keep your volunteers happy and coming back for next time? What are the miscellaneous things that make a day go smoothly?
10:45 – 11:30 am
Seminar 2: Site Acquisition
Raleigh Boreen
How much space do you need to hold a successful Street Survival program? How do you convince a site owner that allowing teen drivers loose on their property is a good and safe idea? How do you talk them into doing so for no fee or a reduced fee? Listen to our presenter for some top tips for site acquisition and an open discussion of best practices in obtaining a suitable place to hold a school.
11:30 – 12:15 am
Seminar 3: Marketing – Filling Your School with Students
Carla Russo
How exactly are you supposed to find teen drivers to attend your Street Survival program? Carla will share with you some best practices for marketing a Street Survival event and lead an open discussion of some successes and frustrations in reaching out to the media to promote local schools. The panel will discuss local politicians, police and fire depts., hospitals, civic organizations, other parties likely to help market the school and provide students.

Tire Rack Street Survival Goals for 2014
Bruce Smith

Seminar 4: Classroom Training
Ross Bentley
The Classroom – not a teen’s favorite place to be, but a critical part of the Street Survival program. How do you keep teens engaged in the classroom sessions? Also, how do you deal with sites where there is no indoor classroom? Ross will review the use of classroom materials, student handbook, and parent handbook. They will lead an open discussion of best practices for keeping the classroom active. Our in-car coaches are so important to the heart of the program, their interaction with the students drives the success of the Tire Rack Street Survival program. A consistent message helps our program grow and gives it greater credibility.
3:00 – 3:45 pm
Seminar 5: Driving Exercises & Safety
Bill Wade
Putting the teens behind the wheel of their every-day car and introducing them to new driving situations is a key part of our program. Bill will present ideas you can use to enhance the in-car portion of your schools. Bill will also discuss safe course design principles, especially accounting for having a group of inexperienced teen drivers doing maneuvers in a small area at the same time. Our in-car coaches are so important to the heart of the program, their interaction with the students drives the success of the Tire Rack Street Survival program. A consistent message helps our program grow and gives it greater credibility
3:45 – 4:15 pm
Seminar 6: Sponsors
Alonzo Byrd & Carrie Woodward
This is an opportunity for our National Sponsors to let people know why they want to be involved with the Tire Rack Street Survival program.
