About this event
-Due to site availability issues, the WNY-SCCA has decided to run a 6-event ‘Travel-Series’ for the 2026 season split between events in the Finger Lake Region and the Misery Bay Region. Entrants will be required to register for the series and championship points will be determined from the best of 4 out of 6 events. Should the WNY-Region be able to run any events this season, they will also count at Points-Events. Depending on if and how many events we can add, total points scoring will change like this:
- 6 Events- Best of 4
- 7 Events- Best of 4
- 8 Events- Best of 5
- 9 Events- Best of 5
- 10 events- Best of 6
Should we need further, maximum scored events will be 50% of the total available event plus 1.
Dates:
- FLR #3 May 31
- MBR #2 June 7
- MBR #3 June 28
- FLR #4 July 19
- FLR #5 Aug 23
- MBR #7 Sept 20
-Finger Lakes Events are held at the Seneca Army Depot in Romulus NY
-Misery Bay Events are held at Lake Erie Speedway in North East PA
-Registration
Initial registration for the WNY Travel-Series will be done via Motorsportreg. There will be a $12 one-time fee to register for the series (Plus additional MotorsportReg fees). This fee will be used to budget for end of season trophies and awards. Registration will be open for the series until May 20th, the day after the 3rd event. If you ran in any of the previous events before registering, they will still count towards your total score.
-Classing
Since different regions class different groups together, classing for the WNY Travel-Series will be manually broken down and split into these groups for scoring purposes:
- Street 1: SS AS BS FS
- Street 2: CS DS ES
- Street 3: GS HS
- Street Touring 1: AST DST EST
- Street Touring 2: SST CST BST GST
- Club Spec: SSC CSM CSZ CSC
- CAM/XS: CAMT CAMC CAMS XA XB XU EVX
- Race Tire: SSP, CSP, DSP, ESP, FSP, XP, CP, DP, EP, FP, SMF, SM, SSM, AM BM, CM, DM, EM, FM, FSAE, KM
In addition, overall-PAX scoring will be tracked for Driver of the Year standings.
-Scoring
Scoring will be manually calculated post-event. This is necessary because of how each region group their scoring in different manners. Scoring will be calculated based off the results of ALL event competitors, not just those registered for the WNY Travel-Series. All scoring will be calculated off PAX-times.
Class Scoring:
The top class PAX time will be assigned ‘100’ and everyone else’s score will be based off the percentage of which they were off the top PAX score in their class.
Example:
Street Class:
Top PAX (BS): 40.000s Score: 100
Driver 1 (CS): 41.000s Score: 97.56
Overall PAX Scoring:
The top overall PAX time of the event will be assigned ‘100’ and everyone else’s score will be based off the percentage of which they were off the top PAX score.
Example:
Top PAX Time (Street Touring): 39.000 Score: 100
Driver 1 (CS-Street Class): 41.000 Score: 95.12
The competitors' score from each event will then be tallied throughout the season. The total of your best FOUR (or higher depending on total number of events) class scores will count towards your class championship for the season and the total of your best FOUR overall PAX scores will count towards the overall Driver-of-the-Year standings. If you do more than 4 events, only you four best overall scores will count.
-Protests
Protests during an event should be dealt with at the event and per the Region where you are competing’s guidelines. The WNY-Region will stand by any decision of the competing Region. Protests with scoring will be handled by the WNY-Region Solo-Chair and Region Executive. Note: Weather factors and classes in different run groups will not be a valid protest. While we would like to have run groups all match up, we have no say with how other regions run their operations.
