A unique opportunity to exercise special cars on track!

The VSCCA Preservation Group is a non-competitive lapping group for former race and road cars through the early ‘70s. The aim is simple: for VSCCA members to enjoy the cars, enjoy the track, and enjoy driving together in an exciting yet safe environment.

• IMPORTANT: Please note that the VSCCA runs additional events during this weekend that require separate registrations:
  • Fall Finale Vintage Racing
  • Fairfield Horseless Carriages

• Member’s cars from the Prewar era through the early ‘70s are encouraged to participate. We love to see former race cars (and drivers) who may not be competing anymore, or vintage road-going sports cars that our fellow VSCCA members want to enjoy on track. When in doubt, ask the Event Chair if your vehicle is the right fit.
• We’re offering worker rides around 5:30 PM for 20 minutes on Saturday and hope you’d volunteer! Please indicate your interest in the registration process. No personal or car safety gear required, except for a passenger seat with seat belts.
• Friends & family are welcome to come watch the racing - no entry fee.
• This is a muffled event!

• An extended Drivers' meeting prior to the first track session will include track etiquette, flags, passing rules, etc.

• Save by entering 4 weeks in advance!
• Early Bird: $275 through September 4, thereafter $300
   
• Credit cards will be charged & checks cashed 1 week prior to the event.
• If you DO NOT pay by Credit Card, your payment MUST BE RECEIVED by the Event Chair no later than 10 days prior to the event. For payment by check, please indicate so during registration by entering the discount code VSCCACHECK at payment, make your check out to VSCCA, Inc. and contact the Event Chair for a mailing address. Please also note our cancellation policy.

The Early Bird Entry is up to 4 weeks before the start of certain events:

• If you DO NOT pay by Credit Card, your payment MUST BE RECEIVED by the Event Chair no later than four (4) weeks prior to the event. If received late, you will have to pay the Regular Entry fee which is $50 more than the Early Bird rate. Please also note our cancellation policy.

• Racing Experience: No race license required. Previous track driving experience recommended.
• Track etiquette: This is a non-competitive lapping group. Passing is open on the front straight, please no more than two abreast and complete all passes by pit out (where the pit wall ends). Passing on the back straight by point-by is also allowed. Absolutely no passing in the corners. Watch your mirrors and be courteous. If someone sits on your tail through the turns, let them pass you on one of the straights and see their line. Safely swapping positions on the straights is fun.
• An extended Drivers' meeting prior to the first track session will include track etiquette, flags, passing rules, etc.

• Current Medical: Not required.
• Personal Safety Equipment: Helmets are required (Snell SA2015 or SA2020, no M or K) and open car drivers must have a full-face helmet/shield. All other safety gear, including Nomex suits, gloves, etc., are recommended but not required.
• Car Requirements:
  • General: Member’s cars from the Prewar era through the early ‘70s are encouraged to participate. We love to see former race cars (and drivers) who may not be competing anymore, or vintage road-going sports cars that our fellow VSCCA members want to enjoy on track. When in doubt, ask the Event Chair if your vehicle is the right fit.
  • Tires: Treaded tires required. Cars with slicks will not be allowed to run.
  • Muffled: Yes. Please make sure your car meets the sound requirement of 86db or less. It is at the track's discretion to remove you from the event if you are over the sound limit due to town ordinances. We cannot issue refunds or any credits due to non-compliance.
  • Technical Inspection: All cars must pass a simple tech inspection. Please fill out the standard VSCCA Tech Sheet before the event: Download Tech Sheet here (PDF)
  • Car Safety Equipment: Seatbelts in good condition are required (no date code). Onboard fire extinguishers are recommended but not required.

• Registration is subject to approval. We’ll review registrations and contact you if we have questions.
• If you decide to bring a different car from the one registered, you must notify us of this change or you may not be allowed to participate in this event.
