VCMC SUPER CHALLENGE!!
*UPDATE TO EVENT STRUCTURE - THIS EVENT IS SIMILAR TO A CUP SERIES EVENT, EACH RUN GROUP GETTING TWO RUN SESSIONS WITH 3 RUNS EACH. IN ADDITION, THERE WILL BE A TOURNAMENT KNOCKOUT AT THE END OF THE DAY. 8 RUNS MINIMUM ON THE DAY FOR EVERY DRIVER
The majority of this event will run like a typical cup event, where each of the 2 run group gets 2 sessions of 3 runs. All of these runs will be used for qualifying. Your fastest run of the will be indexed and your PAX time will be used to rank you among the rest of the group (typical pax results). Everyone qualifies for the end of day Tournament. Anyone knocked out in the first round of the tournament will participate in the alternate championship, "Best of the rest"
The run groups will be re-sorted in the afternoon based on which side of the tournament bracket you fall into. The Chief of Workers will quickly assign stations, then we'll start the tournament. The announcer, event coordinator, and grid person will be announcing drivers to come to the start and take their runs. Once the first bracket (A) has reduced down to one driver, it will be the second bracket's (B) turn to drive. Drivers who have been eliminated in bracket A will need to stay and perform their work assignment for Bracket B, so please do not leave. These sessions will be shorter than a typical run group (45 minutes or less). Once bracket B is complete, we will have the final showdown between the two drivers. The top driver of Bracket A will be permitted a practice run to get tires up to temp for fairness.
All runs during the tournament will be evaluated based on your indexed PAX time. The fastest time will advance. Cones still count as a 2 second penalty and a DNF will not qualify you to advance. In the case of a tie between competitors, each driver will be granted one more run.
The morning run group session will go in this order: Run > Work > Break format
There will be prizes!!
