Come join Tar Heel Sports Car Club (THSCC) for two days of autocross at  The North Carolina Center for Auto Research (NCCAR) in Garysburg, NC. Both days will count as THSCC individual points events. We will set up a different course on each day.

  • Saturday, Nov 14th - THSCC Points Event #9
  • Sunday, Nov 15th - THSCC Points Event #10

NOVICES

THSCC has ride along novice instruction at every event. If you have been to 10 or fewer autocross events, or have been autocrossing for less than one year, you should sign up in novice class.

Novice drivers must attend the mandatory novice course walk at 9:00AM. Information on novice instruction and novice grid will be shared during the novice walk and during the drivers meeting.

Stick around for the trophy ceremony at the end of the night after we clean up, it's fun and you might have won something! If we get a lot of novices we may go as far as 10th place for novice class trophies.

Check out our novice guide for more information : https://www.thscc.com/programs/autocross/novices

Event requirements

These requirements will be enforced throughout the event. If you do not feel you can comply with them, please do not sign up. We take the safety of everyone present seriously.

Full program policies and classing details: thscc.com/programs/autocross/rules

Drivers, Passengers, and Spectators

Everyone who enters the site must sign the waiver at the gate and will receive a wristband.

All participants (Drivers and Passengers) must be at least 16 years of age and hold a valid drivers license.

There is no fee for spectating, Spectators may ride along with experienced drivers (not with novices), but they must sign the ride along waiver and receive a ride along wrist band first. Spectators are only allowed in approved areas, not on course. Children must be supervised and pets must be on a leash or within an enclosure.

Classing and Numbers

All vehicles must properly display the class and number they are registered under. Numbers and letters must contrast with the vehicle's color so they are easy to read. Numbers must be at least 8" tall and letters must be at least 4" tall. Class and number must be displayed on both sides of the vehicle.

Novice drivers should use “NOV” or “N” plus their number instead of their full class. Please bring tape or other materials to mark both sides of your car.

Vehicle and Helmet Tech Inspection

All drivers must wear a helmet that meets SNELL 2010 or newer certification. We do have loaner helmets available but they may need to be shared if many people want to use them, so please bring your own helmet if you have one.

All vehicles must pass tech inspection or have received 2026 THSCC annual tech inspection.

Check this page for details on what will be checked in tech inspection and on annual tech: https://www.thscc.com/programs/autocross/tech-inspection

When your car is ready for tech, open the hood, trunk, any battery access panels, and leave your helmet out for inspection. A roving tech worker will come by to inspect the car, when they are done and if your car has passed, they will place a small sticker in the upper corner of the windshield. If there is an issue with your car or equipment, the tech worker will leave a note with an explanation.
