Event requirements
Full program policies and classing details: thscc.com/programs/autocross/rules
These requirements will be enforced throughout the event. If you do not feel you can comply with them, please do not sign up. We take the safety of everyone present seriously.
Classing and Numbers
This is a points event, so your car must display classing and numbers clearly on both sides. Numbers and letters must contrast with the vehicle's color so they are easy to read. Numbers must be at least 8" tall and letters must be at least 4" tall.
Novice drivers should use “NOV” or “N” plus their number instead of their full class. Please bring tape or other materials to mark both sides of your car.
Tech Inspection
When your car is ready for tech, open the hood, trunk, any battery access panels, and leave your helmet out for inspection. A roving tech worker will come by to inspect the car, when they are done and if your car has passed, they will place a small sticker in the upper corner of the windshield.
To pass tech, you must:
- Clean out any loose items in the car, this includes cell phones cables, garage door openers, loose change and such.
- The battery has to be properly secured.
- If your floor mats are not physically attached to carpet, they will have to be removed. We don’t want the floor mat to bunch up under the brake or gas.
- Have a SNELL approved helmet, 2010 or newer (M-rated or SA-rated). We do not accept DOT-only approved helmets.
A limited number of loaner helmets will be available and may need to be shared, so please bring your own helmet if you have one.
It is your responsibility to:
- Check basic fluids such as oil, coolant, and brake fluid.
- Make sure you torque the lug nuts to manufacturer's recommended tightness.
- Make sure you have no active leaks on the motor, transmission or diff. Oil on the track is a bad thing.
- Check tire pressure. If you don’t know what to set it to, ask.
- You WILL experience greater than normal tire wear. Your tires MUST be serviceable, meaning they have appropriate tread, no cords showing, not dry rotting, etc.
