TAC Summer Test and Tune

Twickenham Auto Club (TAC) Test and Tune

This test and tune is targetted for drivers who are interested in car setup and suspension tuning.
- Example: you might take 2-3 runs, go back to grid to for several minutes to test shock settings, different tires, wheel spacers, sway bar settings, alignment, ride height, springs, then right back to the line for 2-3 runs and repeat.
This test and tune is NOT for first-time drivers. Must have several autocross events worth of experience.
This test and tune is NOT for drivers who are interested in seat time, hot lapping, sharpening driving skills or practice.
This test and tune is NOT for spectators.
All drivers must be experienced enough to work a corner on their own.
A Builder Priority Lane will be established and approved drivers may use this lane to skip the line at any time.
- This lane is mostly intended for drivers headed to Solo Nationals and/or who are spending significant time making car setup changes.
- Please indicate on the registration form if you would like access to the Builder Priority Lane.
- Please indicate on the registration form if you have a co-driver.
All drivers (including early workers) are required to work only 1 of 5 work sessions. The remaining ~5 hours are free for you to run, eat, work on the car, hang out, or leave early.
The timing system will be set up and laptimes will be shown on the timing board, but we will not have scored results or classing. Plan to record your own times.

Payment Process

We will collect payment ~~AT THE EVENT during check-in~~ via MOTORSPORTREG on FRIDAY.
~~Please bring your credit card (preferred) or cash to the event. No checks.~~
If you no-show, you will be charged the $10 fee by motorsportreg.
- If you cancel on-time (prior to Friday at noon) , you will not be charged.

Registration & Cancellation

40 driver entry cap - first come, first serve.
Registration closes FRIDAY at NOON. Must register online, no walkups.
Cancel before registration closes – full refund.
Cancel after registration closes – $10 cancellation fee.
Registration changes can be made by attendees until registration is closed. If you have a class change after registration closes, please contact the Event Organizer.

Sound Policy

We have a strict sound policy, due to our residential location and agreement with the Milton Frank Stadium owners. Your car must not be louder than 96 dB without exception. Sound will be monitored approximately 50 feet from the course. The type of exhaust (stock vs aftermarket) is not restricted, but it must not exceed 96 dB. If your car exceeds 96 dB on a run, you will be notified, the run will be scored as a DNF, and not allowed to run again. If you show that a modification has been made to reduce noise (driving at half throttle does not count), then you will be allowed to run again. If your car exceeds the limit a second time, you will not be allowed to run for the rest of the day. We want EVERYONE to have a great day autocrossing, please make this easy by fixing your car before the event!

Helmets

Helmet requirements per SCCA Solo Rules Section 4.3.1. Snell 2005 and older helmets are no longer acceptable.

We have a limited number of loaner helmets available on site for free. We require head socks to be worn -- these can be purchased at registration for $1 and they are yours to keep. Please return your loaner helmet to the trailer when not in use.

Scooters (and similar)

Scooters can be "Walked" anywhere.
Scooters (and similar) should not be "Ridden" on course walks.
Scooters should not be "Ridden" anywhere considered to be "Hot areas" (e.g. any place helmeted drivers are driving).
Early course setup workers and event organizers may drive scooters on course, but only for purposes outside of course walking.
This policy is subject to change.
