Southwest Shootout 2023

VARA invites you to our first race of the 2023 season, featuring the 2.32-mile track at Podium Club, Casa Grande, AZ. Just a short drive from the heart of Phoenix or Tucson. The Podium Club makes a serious statement. Not since the days of Riverside Raceway has the Southwest had a circuit with so much character. This 2.32-mile 15 turn track features banked turns and rolling elevation changes. 

The track is a true treat of a driving experience blending a mix of high and low speed corners together with technical sections that are conducive to close racing. And should you find yourself taking an unexpected trip off track, the vast amounts of smooth (but very dusty) runoff area should keep the damage minimal.

There are NO RV hook ups at the track which means dry camping is the only option for staying at the track, but the paddock is a great size fully paved. Casa Grande has several hotels including Radisson Hotel 520-217-1029, Quality Inn 520-836-1600, Holiday Inn 520-509-6333. All options are within a respectable distance from the track.

This is a 3-day event, Friday will be a testing day and a race format each day on Saturday and Sunday. Paddock area will open for move in at 8am Thursday 16th Feb  

This Race Weekend will feature our regular run groups like any event at Buttonwillow or Willow Springs. Help VARA grow its relationship with this passionate and ambitious track while celebrating VARA’s 50th year of racing history!
