About this event
The Arctic Alaska Region, of the Sports Car Club of America, will be sanctioning the Midsummers' Solo in the Matanuska Valley on Saturday, July 27th. Event Chairman Al Mills continues his quest for fun autocrosses with lots of seat time! And like earlier events of the season, he says — “we're going to see some familiar faces and good times! Seat time, smiles and Solo — what is a better way to spend the day!"
This event will be at the Houston Middle School, which is just past the Big Lake cutoff in the Matanuska Valley!
930-1000 AM — Onsite Registration Open
Please arrive early to allow time to settle your gear, prepare your car, and get through Tech Inspection before the Walk-Thru. Remember, all loose items will need to be out of your car and your battery will need to be solidly secured—no bungee cords!
Don't forget your valid Driver's License!
Event requirements
REGISTRATION and ENTRY FEES
All competitors are encouraged to pre-register (versus "event morning" registration) at the official online registration site: www.alaskascca.motorsportreg.com for this July 27th event and our upcoming September 21-22nd autocross and Solo drags.
Entry fees are $30 for SCCA Members! SCCA offers a Weekend Membership of $5 which will be on top of the $30 entry fee. A Weekend Membership fee makes you an SCCA Weekend Member and will give you a $15 discount towards a full SCCA membership, a copy of "SportsCar" (our national magazine), and is valid for the all SCCA-sanctioned events held during that weekend.
DRIVERS LICENSES and HELMETS
Competitors must present a valid driver’s license and sign the Event Waiver. If under 18-years-of-age, competitors will need a Minor Waiver signed by their parents (or legal guardians) and presented prior to competition. Contact the Region at 745-2013/243-2122 (9A-7P) to obtain a form prior to the event.
Helmets: Competitors must have helmets, and they must meet minimum Snell SA-95, K95, or M-95 ratings or newer. The Region will have limited sizes and quantities of “loaner helmets” at the event; first two events are free and then there is a $10 charge for use during an event.
CLASSES, CAR PREPARATION AND MODIFICATIONS
The Region utilizes the SCCA Solo Rule Book classificiations (2013 pdf-file available at www.scca.com) and also offers the optional Denali Class for those Region competitors who have been competing two years.
Each competitor will be required to present their vehicle ready for inspection to the Tech Inspection Team immediately following Registration. Vehicles shall have mufflers, working seatbelts, and NO leaking fluids, in addition to the other items on the Tech Sheet.
