LEGENDARY HIGH DESERT Healing Waters
Steeped in history and tradition, Ojo Caliente is one of the country's oldest health spas. Tucked between the rugged desert cliffs and cottonwood-lined bosque, these hot springs await soakers seeking healing and respite.
Enjoy soaking in a variety of iconic communal pools, rich in lithia, arsenic, iron and soda. Their high desert-inspired spa therapies meld the best from East and West and feature premium, New Mexico-made, organic products and locally harvested wild botanicals.
Complimentary Amenities, Unlike many resorts, they do not charge an extra resort fee. Hot Mineral Pools, Yoga, Public Trail Access, Parking, Smoke-Free Property, 300 Days of Sunshine, Local Coffee & Tea, Wifi.
Lodging rates include access to all mineral pools 7:30 am - 10 pm the days of arrival and departure, and every day during your visit.
Our Friday midday lunch stop will be at Calvillo's (included in your registration), where they believe Mexican food should be fresh, tasty, and authentic and are dedicated to serving the best Mexican food in Colorado. Located in Alamosa in the San Luis Valley of Southern Colorado, Calvillo's offers a rich culture and cuisine of the different states of Mexico.
After arriving at the Ojo Caliente Mineral springs and spa and time permitting a quick relaxing soak in the mineral springs, we'll enjoy an on-site Dinner (included with your registration) at The Artesian Restaurant where seasonally inspired cuisine is lovingly made with local ingredients and Ojo Farm produce, grown just a short stroll from the kitchen. At Ojo Caliente's Artesian Restaurant, their chefs create sumptuous cuisine infused with local tradition and flavor. Their seasonal menus feature crave-worthy fare like New Mexico green chile cheeseburgers and salads straight from the Ojo Farm. The Artesian offers omnivore, gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options.
For Saturday you have multiple choices, stay at the mineral springs and spa and soak in the day and relax away, do a non-guided self-tour of the area....or a train ride!
On Saturday get All-Aboard (Full) for an Excursion Trip: Travel by train the full line, 64-miles, between Chama, NM and Antonito, Colorado; includes an hour bus ride. Select the bus first then ride the train back to your vehicle OR ride the train first then ride the bus back to your vehicle.
Select between our three classes of service. Ride in the first class Parlor Car and experience the Victorian elegance, for ages 21+ only. Step aboard the premium café style Deluxe Car, for riders of all ages. Relax, open your window and take in the fresh Rocky Mountain air in the classic Coach Car which offers comfortable cushioned bench style seating. Gather in the open-air gondola, which is available for all passengers, where the docents provide a lively narrative of the history of the railroad and experience unobstructed views for great photo opportunities.
Travel the full line by train, 64-miles, between Chama, NM and Antonito, CO. Experience America's longest and highest narrow gauge railroad. See what the entire Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad has to offer from the authentic west through tunnels and over trestles burrowing over the highest operational railroad pass in North America today! Includes lunch at Osier Station and an hour bus ride.
