Middle GA SCCA Solo #3

Henderson Stadium

About this event

Event Schedule

Please arrive onsite no later than 8:45AM, the earlier the better. Novices, you should give yourself even more time; best to arrive no later than 8:15AM.

7:00AM - 8:00AM || Event setup

8:00AM - 9:00AM || Registration and Tech Inspection Open

8:45AM - 9:45AM || Course open for driver walk-through

9:30AM - 9:45AM || Novice walk through

9:45AM - 10:00AM || Drivers Meeting

10:00AM || Drivers to cars, competition begins

If we have more than 40 people register we will have to split it into 3 run groups and probably go from 8 to 5 or 6 runs depending on the number of people.

Event Format

We do our best to have ~50 second courses, and still give each driver 8 runs every event. This may need to be changed on an event by event basis, but normally this is accomplished with 4 runs both before and after lunch.

Group 1 Drives/Group 2 Works
Group 2 Drives/Group 1 Works
Lunch Break (30-45 minutes, time dependent)

Fee Structure

Get pre-registered now and avoid paying a $5 onsite registration fee!

SCCA Member Price || $35 ($40 Onsite)

Non-SCCA Member Price || $45 ($50 Onsite)

First-time Participant || $25 ($30 Onsite)

There is no fee for spectators and non-participants. Single passengers are allowed unless special event rules dictate otherwise. Passengers must wear helmets. Registration is for drivers only.

Restrooms and Additional Parking

Our current site host requires additional fees for using the back lot parking spaces with restrooms. The additional fees require that we, as a small region, put in place the stipulation that at least 25 pre-registrations are required by the Wednesday prior to the event in order to open the back lot parking and restrooms. We are sorry for this inconvenience.

Event requirements

Experience required (none)

All levels of experience are welcomed! Those who are new to autocross are encouraged to review the SCCA Solo Cars and Rules. There is also some quick F.A.Q. that would be great to review. If you're a novice, select the Novice Class under PAX on the next screen.

Car Prep

Virtually any car in good mechanical condition can run in a Solo event. Common missteps we find in tech are not having a proper battery tie down, having loose items (subwoofers in particular), and the occasional cord showing on tires. Other high level items for you to check (and we will during tech) are throttle return and brake firmness.

Car Classification

It also helps to know what class you are going to run before the event, and have your car already appropriately marked. For help with this, review the Solo Cars and Rules. Particularly, Appendix A will come in handy, but the larger rule book will outline the modifications allowed in each class. Also, please feel free to contact the registrar for this event. (Listed in the right-hand column)

Placing your class and number on your car can either be done with something more established like vinyl or magnet, but even painters tape will suffice. The biggest requirement is that it be a contrasting color to the car.

Age/License

All competitors must meet the requirements set forth by their driver's license to compete. For example, if you have a learner's permit, and it requires a parent or guardian be in the passenger seat, that requirement must be met during competition

For all of those under the age of 18, a minor waiver must be signed by BOTH parents. Obviously there are exceptions to the both parents rule, and we will mostly go off your word, but be prepared to provide proof if asked.

Work Assignments

All competitors are required to perform work assignments when they're not running. Failure to do so will result in a disqualification. If you have a special circumstance, such as a disability, please make the event staff aware at registration check-in.
