Please join us for the Maryland drive on Saturday October 23 - with some new features this year!
We will be taking a drive through the beautiful hills of Western Maryland on our way to lunch at the wonderful Bavarian restaurant Schmankerl Stube in Hagerstown, MD. Schmankerl means a Bavarian culinary delicacy and Stube means a cozy room. http://schmankerlstube.com
Saturday, 23 October 2021, is the date for our annual drive through Montgomery, Frederick, and Washington Counties to an eventual dinner at Schmankerl Stube in
Hagerstown. We will gather in Potomac, Maryland, at a location to be announced in the week before the event to those registered to participate in the drive. Participants should try to arrive by 11:30 with the goal of conducting our pre-departure briefing and starting out not later than noon. Our first stop will be Rocky Point Creamery just outside of Point of Rocks, Maryland. Good homemade ice cream and a rest room will be available there. From there, we will drive north on Route 15 to Catoctin Mountain Orchard in Thurmont, Maryland, where fresh fruits, pumpkins, great pies, and rest rooms will be available. From the orchard, we will go a few miles south on Route 15 before turning off onto a series of wonderfully twisty roads through the Frederick County watershed, ending up at City Park in Hagerstown. City Park is a large public park that includes a lake and walking trails and the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts. Our goal is to be at City Park in time to allow those who wish to do so to visit the
museum before it closes at 4:00 PM. We have a picnic pavilion adjacent to the museum reserved for those who would like to sit or snack.
There will also be an opportunity for those who choose to do so to park early near the restaurant and walk two blocks south to Hub City Vinyl, (https://m.facebook.com/hubcityvinyl/) at 28 East Baltimore Street n Hagerstown, a record store like we used to remember them, about 2 blocks south of Schmankerl Stube, before dinner. Shortly after 5:00 PM (earlier for those who choose to visit the record store), we will leave City Park for a short drive to Schmankerl Stube for a 5:30 dinner reservation.
There is a parking garage adjacent to the restaurant. Please note that our seating at Schmankerl Stube is strictly limited to 30 people, so that only those with confirmed registrations for the drive will have places for dinner. After dinner, participants will be free to find their ways home from Hagerstown.
(Priority will given to those registrants not currently confirmed for the Virginia drive on November 7 (this would include those waitlisted for that event). When you register, you will receive an initial "ON HOLD" status. We will confirm the first 30 registrants thereafter and others will be waitlisted if necessary.

APPLICATIONS/ACCEPTANCE
- Our events are open to all marques.
- You do not need to be a PCA member to participate.
- This event has limited capacity to accommodate the venue's facilities, and for the safety of all participants. (late registrations are risky due to capacity). Watch the website for revisions.
- We will notify you of your status by email. You are responsible for updating your profile in the MotorsportReg.com website to include your current contact information.
- We will provide priority to those registrants not currently confirmed for the Sunday 11/7 Virginia Fall Drive. We will initially list all registrants as “ON HOLD”. The status will be changed to "confirmed" (for the earliest registrants who are not also confirmed for the Sunday 11/7 Virginia drive) or "waitlisted" for all others. If space becomes available, we will change status in the order of registration. We will provide formal notification of acceptance into an event by email prior to an event. If you haven’t received any notification, check the MSR website for your status.
- Due to limited capacity of the event venue, walkups cannot join the event.
- IF YOU CAN'T PARTICIPATE, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CANCEL so we can accommodate those who are waitlisted.
CANCELATION
- You must cancel please be curious and cancel as soon as you can in order to allow others from the wait list to attend.
- If you cannot cancel online, you must notify the Registrar by email and receive an ACKNOWLEDGMENT by email to verify that you have canceled.
PAYMENT
- We are going dutch! All checks will be directly paid to the Schmankerl Stube.
REFUND
