Cost: $10 per person

Tour enthusiasts welcome to the first overnight tour of the year. We will depart from BMW Northwest in Tacoma (4011 20th St E, Tacoma) at 8:30am, so plan to be there at 8 for coffee, doughnuts, and our driver’s safety meeting. (Please thank BMW NW staff for hosting us, they are a great independent dealership.)
As usual we will be driving the long way around to get to our destination, The Chautauqua Hotel aka the Chautauqua Resort and Conference Center. Those of you that have been on other tours that go to the coast know normally we go to OR, unfortunately, I was unable to find a hotel that would allow us to stay one night only thus we are spending our money locally.
The lodge has provided us with a rate of $109 plus tax and if you want to bring a 4-legged friend there is an additional pet charge. They have been upgrading rooms so I expect it will look very nice. I will be making the pre-drive on April 9 and will know more then. You may make your reservations now by calling the hotel at 360-642-4401 and tell them the reservation code, BMW Club 2022.
For those of you who have never been there, Long Beach is one of the few areas in the U.S. where they grow cranberries, and they even have a Cranberry Museum in town. If you have a kite, bring it along because the winds there are perfect for having fun on the beach. If you don’t have a kite, there are shops in town that will be happy to sell you one.
I will do my best to see if we can dine together for our Saturday meal and if not then we will have to forage on our own. There will be 15 cars on the tour, and I hope to see you at BMW NW on May 14th.
