Held under the 2014 SCCA Time Trials Rules (TTR)

  1. This event is organized by the Milwaukee Region of Sports Car Club of America, Inc. (SCCA) and will be held under the 2013 SCCA Time Trial Rules (TTR) except as amended by these Supplemental Regulations.
  2. Purpose:  The PDX portion of this event is designed to be a NON-COMPETITIVE opportunity for participants to learn first-hand from experienced instructors and to practice repeatedly, at safe non-racing speeds, the basic principles and skills upon which the sport of motor racing is based.  PDX portion of this event limited to the first 60 cars.
  3. The Club Trials (CT) portion of this event is designed to be a timing-based feedback opportunity for advanced drivers to receive lap times as part of their driving experience.  Classing and finishing positions will not be established nor awarded at this event.  Instructors will also be available for CT participants, but CT is recommended for advanced drivers.
  4. Registration Information and Entry Fees

    3. Important dates regarding entries for this event.
      A late fee of $25.00 may be added to all entries entered/received after 11:59PM on Thursday, October 23, 2013.
      Returned/NSF checks and declined credit card numbers will be assessed a $40.00 fee ($25 fee plus the $15 late fee).
      A cancellation fee of $25.00 will be deducted from all refund notifications received after 11:59PM on Thursday, October 23, 2013.
      Online registration closes at 11:59PM on Thursday October 23, 2013.

  1. Milwaukee Region SCCA reserves the right to refuse any entry for any reason.
  2. Participant Requirements:
    1. All drivers must be at least 16 years of age and possess a current valid driver's license issued by his or her state of residence.  Drivers between the ages of 15 to 18 years old must have approval of SCCA Club Racing to participate or must be the holder of an SCCA competition license with Minor Waiver on file. Contact the event registrar if a minor.
    2. All participants, including drivers, workers, crew members, and guests must sign the SCCA Release and Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement form # 9716.
    3. Any driver found to have driven on course in any vehicle before having properly completed the waiver signing process will be disqualified from the event with no refund of entry fee and will be removed from the premises.
    4. Drivers are responsible for conduct of all guests on site during the event.
    5. Consumption of alcohol by any legal-age participant, guest, volunteer, or worker is prohibited until the last session of the day has concluded.  Use of narcotics or other dangerous drugs is prohibited at all times.  Violators will be removed from the premises.
    6. All drivers may be required to work a flag station during one or more sessions when their run group is not on course as directed by the Chief Steward or Safety Steward.

 

  1. Vehicles:  ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST SUBMIT A TECH INSPECTION FORM FOR THEIR VEHICLE.  Available at www:milwaukeetrackdays.com
    1. Vehicles must be eligible for street licensure.  If vehicle is not eligible for street licensure, then it must be eligible for one of the following GCR categories: Showroom Stock, Touring, Improved Touring, Spec Miata; or it must be eligible for one of the following SOLO categories: Stock, Street Prepared, Street Touring, or Street Modified.
  2. Required vehicle safety equipment:
    1. A restraint system meeting federal standards for the year of manufacture of the vehicle in each of the front seating positions.  Restraint systems must comply with Section 10.8 of the 2013 Level 1 – PDX rules.  Competition-style multi-point harness systems are highly recommended.
    2. Suitable and safely mounted driver and passenger seats.  Passenger seat requirement may be exempted by chief steward.
    3. Any seat used by a passenger must have the same safety equipment as that of the driver.
    4. A full sized, street legal windshield.
    5. Roll bars are highly recommended for all cars.
    6. Hub caps / wheel covers must be removed.
    7. CONVERTIBLES / TARGAS: At PDX and Club Trials events, any car that is street legal WILL NOT require a roll bar/roll cage, EXCEPT for Convertibles and Targa* top automobiles.  These cars must have either a roll bar meeting the requirements of Section 11 of the TTR, a factory roll bar/rollover protection , or a factory hard top using the factory mounting hardware and mounting points. Owners of cars equipped with factory roll bars/roll over protection must present documentation stating that the device is a roll bar or roll over protection at the time of vehicle tech inspection (a factory issued Owner’s or Shop Manual will fulfill this requirement.) Targa* top (and T-top) automobiles may forgo the roll bar requirement under the condition that the Targa bar meets the height requirements set forth in PDX 11.1.1.B. For the purposes of this determination only, street legal will be defined as a car which meets local requirements for inspection (if applicable) and the car in question must possess CURRENT, VALID registration. If this street legal requirement is not met, then the roll bar requirement as stated in this section shall apply. *Targa top, targa for short, is a semi-convertible car body style with a removable roof section and a full width fixed B-pillar and roof section. The rear window can be fixed or removable.
    8.  Contact Chief of Tech, Safety Steward, or event chairman for additional clarification.
    9. All cars must run with both front door windows fully lowered.
    10. Open cars (convertibles and targas) meeting roll bar safety requirements per E.2.vii must run with the top removed or lowered and safely stowed.
    11. All loose items inside and outside of the car must be removed.  Passenger seat back and cushion must be secured.
  3. In-car camera mounts must be secured in place.  Cameras mounted outside the vehicle must have a tether attached and secured to the interior of the vehicle.
  4. Any car that is judged to be in an unsafe operating condition at any time during the event shall be prohibited from further participation until the deficiency is corrected and re-inspected by tech inspection personnel.
  5. Vehicle numbering:  number decals for each participating vehicle may be issued during tech inspection.  Number placement location on vehicle will be determined prior to event date.
  6. Driver Safety Equipment
    1. While on course, all participants shall wear a safety helmet meeting Snell SA2000 / M2000 or later specifications.
    2. All drivers in open, convertible, targa, or T-top cars running with the roof panels removed must wear suitable eye protection, i.e., goggles, bubble shield, or face shield on full-face helmets.
  7. Event Conduct
    SPEED LIMITS WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE CHIEF INSTRUCTOR.  THE SPEED LIMITS MAY BE RAISED OR LOWERED BASED ON TRACK CONDITIONS AND THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE CHIEF STEWARD, CHIEF INSTRUCTOR AND SAFETY STEWARD.
    1. Both PDX and CT driver groupings will be assigned prior to the event and will be based on completion of the Experience Level section of the Entry Form.  CT driver groupings may be adjusted based on lap times.
    2. An instructor shall be available to each participant  in a PDX run group.  CT drivers may request the assistance of an instructor.
    3. An instructor shall ride with each PDX student until the Chief Instructor authorizes the student to drive alone.
    4. Passing will only be allowed in those sessions designated as passing sessions by the Chief Instructor.  Passing will only be allowed in designated passing zones.  All passes can only be made after the car to be overtaken has acknowledged the presence of the overtaking car and signaled on which side the pass is to be made by a hand signal (point-by).  Use of a turn signal is not considered a valid means of signaling.
    5. Any driver who spins or leaves the course with all four wheels off course must return immediately to the pits and may not return to the course until authorized by an instructor.  A vehicle re-inspection by the Chief Technical Inspector or Safety Steward may also be required prior to returning to the course.
    6. If a vehicle has become stuck in a run-off area, the session will be stopped until the vehicle is removed.
    7. The only passengers allowed in any vehicle on course during any PDX or CT session are the instructors which are approved for that event.  No other persons may ride along in any capacity.  Violation will result in removal from the event.  Participants may ride as passengers in instructor vehicles.
  8. The following flags and their meanings shall be explained at the driver’s meeting and used at this event:
    1. GREEN - when displayed, the green flag indicates that the course is clear.
    2. YELLOW - MOTIONLESS - take care, danger, slow down, NO PASSING,
      YELLOW - WAVED - great danger, slow down, be prepared to stop, NO PASSING.
    3. RED - The session has been stopped.  Clear the course for emergency traffic by stopping off course to the right as far as practical.  Do not move until directed by a worker or official.
    4. BLACK - There is a problem with your driving or your vehicle.  Proceed to the pits at a reduced rate of speed and stop about midway through the pit lane for consultation.  Black flags will be shown at start/finish and Corner 6.
    5. BLUE WITH DIAGONAL YELLOW STRIPE - another driver is following you.  Be prepared to signal at the next designated passing zone.
    6. ORANGE WITH YELLOW STRIPE - Debris on course, proceed with caution.
    7. CHECKERED - The session has ended.  Please return to the pits at the end of this lap.  Checkered flags will be shown at start/finish.
  9. Pits, Grids & Paddock
    1. As per SCCA General Competition Rules, the hot pits shall be defined as the area from the chain-link fence to the trackside concrete wall.
    2. The entire track property is considered paddock.  Rules will be enforced accordingly for all participants which includes crew and guests.  Access to certain portions of the track property will be limited.
    3. No paddocking or parking allowed on access road(s).  It may be necessary to limit support vehicles in the paddock.  Car trailers are to be moved if so directed by the event officials.   Any vehicle or trailer parked in violation of the event official's instructions may be towed away.
    4. A SLOW, SAFE AND PRUDENT speed limit in the paddock will be enforced.
    5. Proper credentials, closed-toe shoes and shirts are required in the pits, grid, and false grid areas.
    6. Smoking is prohibited in the pits, grid and false grid areas.
    7. No person shall ride on the bodywork of participating cars, tow cars, or on trailers.
    8. Drivers will be informed at driver’s meeting if there are any unstaffed corners.
    9. All trash must be placed in provided receptacles.  All tires MUST be removed from the track property.
    10. On-site fueling will not be available.  Entrants are strongly encouraged to fuel their vehicles prior to arriving at the event.
  10. Sound Control
    1. Maximum sound reading allowed per TTR is 100dB measured at 50ft distance.
  11. Event Insurance
    1. Overall liability coverage for the event is $5 million.  SCCA Member medical coverage is up to $500,000 per person; non-SCCA member medical coverage is $10,000 per person.
    2. National SCCA, the Milwaukee Region, and The Milwaukee Mile are not responsible for any damage to personal vehicles or other personal items.  Event insurance does not provide coverage for damage to participant vehicles.

Milwaukee Mile Speedway Regulations:

  1. Minors, pets, pit vehicles – All minors must be under the direct supervision and accompanied by their parent(s) or acting guardian(s) AT ALL TIMES.  No pets are allowed at the Speedway without the express written consent of The Milwaukee Mile.  Unlicensed motorcycles, mini-bikes, motor scooters, mopeds, ATV’s, golf carts, etc. are only allowed on The Milwaukee Mile infield.  Licensed drivers age 16 and above are the only Club support members allowed to use or operate Club support vehicles.
  2. Camping – Limited tent and motorhome camping is available.  Some electrical hookups are available but no sewer or water hookups.  Reservations should be made through the RV Park.  Camping permits must be displayed at all times as well as electric cord tags.  No fireworks or external sound systems are allowed at any time.  No open flames or fires are permitted; however contained barbecues and camping stoves are permitted.
  3. The Milwaukee Mile reserves the right to amend or modify these Supplemental Regulations at any time without notice.  Persons who violate these rules will be subject to removal without refund or recourse.
