March 2019 Las Vegas Region PCA HPDE - March 2019

Spring Mountain

About this event

Porsche Club of America - Las Vegas Region

Driver Education event Saturday, March 2 - Sunday, March 3, 2019

Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, Pahrump, NV

Join us as the Las Vegas Region of the Porsche Club of America presents two great days of Driver Education at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch.

Please read this information carefully, as some of our registration and
at-track requirements have changed for 2019.

Our events focus on Safety, Education, and Fun! We have a great group of PCA Nationally Trained Instructors available to you in all run groups. Our events feature 30-minute driving sessions.

This event will run the 3.4-mile configuration with the bus stop.

All car makes are welcome!

THERE WILL NOT BE A STUDENT GROUP/GROUND SCHOOL AT THIS EVENT.  AS ALL OF OUR CURRENT AND FUTURE INSTRUCTORS WILL BE ENGAGED IN TRAINING THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND, THERE WILL BE NO STUDENT INSTRUCTION AT THIS EVENT
IF YOU HAVE NO OR FEWER THAN FIVE DAYS OF TRACK EXPEREINCE, PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT
OUR SCHOOL AND YELLOW GROUP INSTRUCTION WILL RETURN AT THE MAY 25-26 EVENT.

If you are a WHITE GROUP DRIVER, but have not been signed off to solo, we will not have instructors for you either. This includes drivers who's only previous experience is the school from a previous event.
PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS EVENT.
OUR SCHOOL AND INSTRUCTION FOR THE WHITE GROUP WILL RETURN AT THE MAY 25-26 EVENT.

IMPORTANT: If you are an experienced advanced or interediate driver, but have not run this track or configuration before, we will not have any instructors avaiable on Saturday for checkout rides or ridealongs to learn the track. The 3.4-mile configuration is a complicated, 22-turn track that's not easily learned, even by experienced drivers in an entire 30 minute session. If you register, we'll be looking carefully at your experience, and In some cases, we might confirm you, but ask you to run one or two groups lower than you normally would. We would then bump you up to advanced or intermdediate when you have learned the track. You also might consider registering for Sunday Only when we'll have instructors avaiable to help.

See the Las Vegas Region Porsche Club of America website for full details of the event at http://lasvegaspca.com/drivered.htm

You must fill out your MotorsportReg.com profile with past experience and emergency contact information.

We run rain or shine!

Fees:
Both Days:  $450

Single Day: $300
Instructors: N/C

There will be no registration or fee payment at the track.

INSTRUCTORS: If you are a PCA Nationally Trained Instructor, we need you at this event to be Mentors for the Instructor Training Clinic on Saturday. Please come out and help. Remember, you were once there too, and experienced instructors came out to help train you to become an instructor. You'll be able to drive in your usual run group on Sunday.

Sell Outs:
These events have become very popular the last few seasons, and some have sold out. We also limit the number of cars in each run group for a better driver experience. Your spot in a run group will be determined by the registration date.

Guest Driver/Student Waiver Policy:
You are considered a Student unless you have completed our Saturday Ground School, or have run two clean events with us. For experienced intermediate and advanced drivers this requirement may be waived. In order to obtain the Student Waiver, experienced drivers must have significant, appropriate experience with, and endorsed by other track organizations or PCA regions.

By "significant" we mean more than a few events: by "appropriate" we mean that such experienced drivers must be able to function in a Driver's Education (as opposed to racing) environment where drivers are given lots of room, passing is via "point-bys", courteous driving is expected and risky behavior is not tolerated. By "endorsed" we mean that an official from the other driving organization(s) must be able to provide their opinion of your safe behavior on track and ability to follow event protocol.

If you feel you are a good candidate for a Student Waiver, please do the following:
A) Update your driving experience resume in your MotorsportReg profile.  Be as detailed as possible to give us a good initial review of your track driving experience.

B) Contact LVR at brad@omnivorous.com indicating that you want to request a Student Waiver. If you are a PCA Nationally Trained Instructor, please indicate so.  If you have a valid competition license, please indicate this and be prepared to provide evidence prior to registration.

C) If requested, have an official from the other driving organization (as similar to PCA as possible) provide information about your driving experience and their endorsement of your safe behavior on the track and ability to follow event protocol.

Your request and supporting information will be reviewed by us and we will inform you whether your Student requirement has been waived. LVR reserves the right to send an Instructor with a Driver for a check-out ride in order to validate the the information provided.
