The Fourth of July is coming soon, so start your holiday weekend off with a bang by joining us for the July First Friday Niter, on July 1st! Rally Wizards Bill Carrigan and Cori Whitehead are our guest rallymasters this month. The rally is named Crime of OPPortunity. There are no traps on this rally, but you will have to pay attention to make sure you are turning at the all of the correct opportunities The route includes a trip over Little Tujunga Canyon and Placerita Canyon then to a variety of neighborhoods along Soledad Canyon. The rally finishes at Toppers Pizza Place, 18417 Soledad Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita, CA 91387 (at the corner of Soledad Cyn and Sierra Hwy).
We are using the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring, with timing to the tenth of a second. Checkpoints are not listed in the route instructions – the Rally Wizards want you to stay on time all the time! There are some free zones, though, to help with places where it might be harder to stay on time. The maximum penalty for this FFN is 3 minutes (180 seconds) per leg. Before you arrive at the start, please download the Richta Competitor app to your phone; it's a free download for Android and Apple devices. There is no need for additional timing equipment, your Official Time shows in the app!

If that doesn't work for you, you can still register in person at the start. We start at the Bank of America rear lot, 10300 Sepulveda Blvd (Sepulveda and Devonshire) in Mission Hills. In-person registration opens at 7:00 pm, with the first car out at 8:01 pm; there is a beginner/Richta meeting at 7:40 pm.
