Joe Batwinis is the rallymaster for America 250, an SCCA Regional road rally. All roads are paved and public. Events in the Southern California Road Rally Series will run rain or shine. These events are NOT races. They are contests of precise driving and accurate navigation.
Rally Route Instructions will be given out on the day starting at 8:30 am, first car starts at 10:01 am (cars run one minute apart), and the rally will take approximately 3½ - 4 hours to complete. There is a beginner/Richta meeting at 9:40 am.
SCCA CalClub Region and Santa Monica Sports Car Club have joined forces for a Southern California Road Rally Championship Series for 2026. For a complete list of the rallies and to view the Championship Guidelines, Click here.

This rally uses the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring.. The app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone. Go to the App Store or Google Play Store, or https://richtarally.com/. There is no need for additional timing equipment or clocks - your Official Time shows in the app!
Event requirements
- One person per vehicle must be an SCCA member - you can purchase a weekend membership as part of registration if you are not a full member
- Everyone in the vehicle must sign a waiver (including passengers)
- If anyone in the car is a minor, they are required IN ADVANCE to complete the online minor waiver, and their parents/guardians are required to complete the parental consent forms. Go to https://my.scca.com/eweb/DynamicPage.aspx?WebCode=CSCCertificationList&pager=10 to complete these requirements.
