Feb. 27th FUNRUN…HOLLISTER TO HARRIS RANCH...
We don’t care about uncertainties of El Nino weather; we’re going to kick-off our first 2016 Golden Gate FunRun anyway: Hollister to Coalinga/Harris Ranch on Sat. Feb. 27th. We'll meet at 8:30 in Hollister [address to follow], and after drivers’ briefing, head south on Airline Highway/25, past Pinnacles Nat'l Park to CA 198, then east through Coalinga to nearby Harris Ranch on I-5 for lunch. I can promise you a green and scenic valley drive in ranch country with twisties on CA25 and sweepers on 198. Lunch at Harris Ranch is always a good thing. Sweet!
We estimate having ~40 cars and will divide the grid into 4 appropriate groups, based on drivers' desired pace. Air-cooled cars will have their own group if they so desire. Because this Fun Run is not a leisurely destination tour, you'll need to give some thought to your diving style. This is an energetic drive and we want members to be comfortable and above all, safe.
While the drive is nominally a "morning" event ending with lunch, your total portal-to-portal time makes it more of a day trip. For example, you should allow approx. 1 hr from South Bay to Hollister +2 hrs to Coalinga/Harris Ranch +1 hr lunch +2 hrs back to Bay Area on I-5 = 6 hrs [minimum] all told.
Please note: 1/ Due to high demand for these FunRuns, our motoring events are open to Golden Gate Region drivers only; Porsche cars only, 2/ Registration is on a first come first served basis, and the event will sell-out very fast, so you’ll need to decide quickly; 3/ $15 per car entry fee is non-refundable, 4/ More logistical, map & lunch details to come, as we get closer to D-Day. If you have never received a GGR name badge, be sure to check the appropriate box on the form.
The event is open for registration at 6 pm, Sunday, Feb. 7th . Again, the event will sell-out fast, so check your calendar without delay…

PLEASE NOTE:
1. Event open to Golden Gate Region - Porsche Club of America members only
2. Porsche cars only due to narrow roads
3. Touring, Sporting and Enthusiast drivers will run in separate groups.
If the situation warrants, we may run a separate group for Air Cooled cars.
