About this event
San Antonio has had more battles fought within its city limits than any other town in North America. These battles occurred while San Antonio was under the jurisdiction of Spain, the Republic of Mexico, The Republic of Texas, the Confederate States of America, not to mention the United States. This Road Rally will take you to the approximate location of each site, however the exact location of some of the sites is not known and other sites were running battles that ranged over several miles. If you want a more detailed investigation of any site, you are encouraged to revisit any site on your own and at your convenience. The oldest two sites date from 1813 and the youngest site dates from the 1870s.
This is a non-speed social Road Rally whose route will be along city streets and speed bumps may be an issue for some cars. We will start on the west side of San Antonio, proceed to the far south side, and then complete our tour just north of downtown. It should take between 90 minutes and two hours for this RoadRally as you learn about the history of San Antonio. Questions may be asked along the route, but awards will not be based on questions or on a car’s finish position. This RoadRally is meant to be a fun learning event, and a social outing where all participants will vote on awards during at our final destination.
