About this event
FUNRUN-OF-THE-MONTH - September 12th
Winery destinations are a big hit for GGR drivers & passengers, no doubt about it. Hoping to soak up some of the demand for this style FunRun, I’m pleased to announce yet another Wine Country opportunity, taking place on Saturday, September 12. The route is Mill Valley, up the scenic Sonoma Coast on Hiway One, then inland on a famous, twisty back road to Geyserville for a box lunch and optional wine tasting at deLorimier Winery. Return to Bay Area at your leisure down 101, or go over to the Napa Valley on 128 and south on the Silverado Trail, you decide.
Beautifully located in the Alexander Valley, deLorimer is well known for their Cabernets, and the optional wine tasting of their offerings is available for $10 [cash only] at the winery. Our gourmet pick nick lunch includes a glass of wine, and you have a choice of three different sandwiches when you register.
We'll meet Sat. 9/12 at 8.30am in Mill Valley [address to follow], and after signing waivers we’ll divide cars into appropriate groups. Drivers self-select one of 3 run groups most appropriate to their own driving style: Enthusiast, Sporting and Touring. This is an energetic drive and we want members to be comfortable in their chosen group and above all, safe. So, evaluate your driving style realistically. Now here are several details to note:
1/ Due to high demand for these FunRuns, this drive is open to Golden Gate Region drivers only; Porsche cars & SUVs only. Thanks for understanding.
2/ You need to open an account on MotorsportsReg.com and sign-up both driver and passenger. The GGR FunRun entry fee of $10 per car is non-refundable.
3/ If driver and/or passenger [only if a PCA Associate Member] has never received a GGR name badge, check the appropriate box when registering.
4/ Picnic Lunch is $45 per person including Tax & Tip [non-refundable]. If drivers are thinking about bringing a passenger, be sure you buy a lunch for them when you register, as there will be no extra lunches available on site.
5/More logistical details to come, including route map, 5 days before D-Day. For questions, email < ggr.touring@gmail.com >
Cheers, Michael Griffin GGR Motoring/Social Director
