Grip Autocross at Talladega Battle in Bama carshow

Your looking at the Premier Autocross event of the year! This is an Autocross event ran by Grip Autocross at Talladega Super Speedway hosted by Battle in Bama and the OBS Nationals! All vehicles that meet the safety requirements for Autocross are welcome. This is a 3 day Autocross event details below. This event is going to be held on the skirt of the track right past the start finish line. You will also be able to watch the Autocross from the grand stands! We are going to be giving away $5000 in cash to the class winners!

GENERAL VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS

• Production-Based Vehicles: Competing vehicles must be derived from a production model, including cars and trucks, whether kit cars or those with a fiberglass or carbon fiber body resembling a production model. must be licensed and insured

• Tire Regulations: All tires must have a treadwear rating of 200 or more. Vehicles with lower-rated tires compete only in the Exhibition Class and are ineligible for awards. 

• Front Tire Width Classification:

·         Vehicles with a front tire width of 255mm or narrower enter the Small Tire Class.

·         Vehicles with a front tire width of 265mm or wider enter the Big Tire Class.

Big Tire Car

• Eligibility: Front tire width ≥ 265mm; minimum weight of 2800 pounds (including driver). 200 tw tires

Small Tire Car

• Eligibility: Front tire width ≤ 255mm; minimum weight of 1800 pounds (including driver) 200 tw tires

Truck class Division

There will be two classes. Mod-Stock, (M/S) and Pro (P). Class divisions are simple and clear. If you don’t fit into M/S, then you go into P. We are counting on the honesty and integrity of the competitors to help keep all of the competition fair. 

Tech inspection will be held prior to competition. No trucks will be allowed to compete without passing a full tech inspection.

General safety rules will be posted. Helmets will be required. Drivers must be the vehicle owner, or builder of record.

Mod-Stock. 

This class is for the fun loving trucker, working to make their truck ride and handle better than the OE ever thought possible. Must have the original front suspension crossmember in it’s original location. Chassis must be based on the original frame rails. Engine must be from the OE manufacturer. Min. weight 3400 lbs. 200 tw tires. 315 max width on the front tire. Rear C notch, step-notch, or rear frame clip is allowed. Any solid axle rear suspension is allowed. In cab cage or harness bar is allowed. 
Here is what kicks you up from M/S to Pro. Aftermarket front suspension crossmember. IRS. Any cage that connects outside of the cab. Any engine swap from another manufacturer than the OE truck. Under 3400 lbs. Any truck that looks so radical that we laugh at you. 
 

Pro.

Bring it on. 2900 lbs. 200 TW tires, 335 max front tire. Aftermarket and fabricated chassis are OK. IRS is OK. Truck must be licensed and registered. Must pass tech inspection.

You may participate in both test and tune sessions on Thursday 

There will be a mandatory drivers meeting with each class on Friday before competition runs begins.
