Dragoon Trail Drive

May 13, which is closer than you think, is the weekend for our Dragoon Trail drive.  We depart from the Johnston Cozy Cafe right after we finish up Cars & Coffee.  The Dragoon Trail follows the path of the 1st U.S. Dragoons, cavalry soldiers who scouted Iowa in 1835 after the Black Hawk Purchase put the area under U.S. government control. The trail roughly tracks along the course of the Des Moines River from Fort Dodge through Des Moines to Knoxville and Lake Red Rock.  We'll be having lunch at the Adobe Lounge, a racing-themed restaurant in Boone, IA along the way.
