This event will be held on the go-kart track inside Daytona International Speedway. The Saturday event will be Points Event #3 and the Sunday event will be Points Event #4. Event trophies for each class will be awarded and class championship points will be accrued on both Saturday and Sunday.
IMPORTANT: All participants must enter the gate prior to 8:30 AM and check in prior to 8:45 AM. Registration closes at 8:45 AM, and check-in after that time may not be allowed as it potentially delays the overall event. Late check-in will always result in a late fee.
Lunch will not be provided. Waters are available for free.
- There are no specific covid restrictions for this event.
- Individuals (including guests!) must enter the facility for the first time when the gate is open from 8-9AM. Once you have been screened and gotten wrist bands you can enter/leave the facility as you please.

Daytona International Speedway
Entrance is through Gate 40 on Williamson Blvd
S Williamson Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32114
Directions from I-95: Take exit 261 (International Speedway Blvd) and head East on International Speedway Blvd. After passing the Home Depot take the first right onto S Williamson Blvd. Gate 40 will be on your left shortly after making the turn. After signing waivers and checking in you will proceed through the tunnel and follow that road past the lake to the other end of the speedway where the kart track is.

Registration and Payment Policy:
To keep our prices as low as we can, and to improve the starting time for our events, we require pre-registration and pre-payment for all Drivers at all Events
With Motorsport Reg your credit card will be authorized at the time of registration but will only be charged after the event has completed. If you cancel your registration by closure of registration on MotorSportsReg.com, (7:00 PM the Thursday before the event), your credit card will not be charged for the event. If you try to cancel after that time, or if you do not show up on the morning of the event, your credit card will be charged a fee of $10.
Minors (Under 18):
- Digital Waiver Process
- SCCA STRONGLY ENCOURAGES USE OF THE DIGITAL ANNUAL WAIVER! It is significantly easier to accomplish than the paper waiver process. Instructions for the digital waiver can be found here: Digital Annual Waiver Instructions.pdf (connectsites.net)
- Paper Waiver Process
- If BOTH legal parents will be present at the event, a paper minor waiver can be signed and witnessed at the event by an SCCA Official on site. In this case, the SCCA Official will provide the Minor Waiver form.
- Only one parent/guardian signature is required if that parent/guardian has sole custody of the minor, although that parent/guardian must also fill out a Waiver - Affidavit of Sole Custody - 2017-04-07which must be witnessed either by a Notary or an SCCA Official.
- Once a minor waiver has been filled out we will keep that waiver on file for the calendar year and participants don't have to bring a new one every time
- Minors under the age of 16 who have a properly signed and witnessed Minor Waiver are allowed in “Hot Areas” ONLY when they are doing their competition runs or when they are riding as a passenger.
- Minors not driving or riding of any age without a Minor Waiver, are not allowed in “Hot Areas” at any time and must be supervised by an accompanying responsible adult.
- Minor passengers must be 12 years or older, OR 57" or taller and must have a completed SCCA Minor Waiver and Weekend Membership form (free for passengers)
- $50Entry Fee for one day or $95 for both days ($5 discount)
- $15 SCCA Weekend Membership fee for non SCCA Members
- $10 Late Fee if you check in late on the day of the event
- $10 Fee will be charged if you cancel after registration closure or do not show on the day of the event
SUPPLEMENTAL RULES AND ONLINE DRIVERS’ MEETING
- CHECK-IN WITH REGISTRATION: DO THIS AS SOON AS YOU ARRIVE AT THE SITE! Even though you are pre-registered, you must still check-in on the morning of each day of the event. Registration will be open by 8:00 AM at the latest; usually earlier.
- There are two ways to check in:
- Scan the QR code posted on the side of the timing trailer and follow the instructions on the website it will link you to.
- Go to Central Florida Region SCCA Autocross , scroll down to Important Links, click on On Site Check In, and follow instructions on the web page.
- If you have an issue with either Check-In method, please come to the timing trailer soonest so we can help you resolve it.
- There are two ways to check in:
- WORK ASSIGNMENTS: ALL SOLO COMPETITORS MUST WORK. Without everyone's help, we cannot hold these events!
- Check-in with the worker chief and go to your work assignment area promptly before the beginning of your assigned work heat.
- Final Run/Work heats and work assignments will be announced and published during the on-site drivers’ meeting and will be announced at that meeting. Do not ask the registrar when you are running or what your work assignment is prior to that, as they don't know until every participant has checked in.
- If you do not work your work assignment, you will be disqualified from the event.
- If you do not work your work assignment at multiple events, you will be banned from future participation with CFR SCCA Solo.
- RAIN OR SHINE?:
- Solo events occur whether it’s raining or shining.
- Solo events will be suspended while lightning is in the immediate area, at which time participants and guests should shelter in a car or nearby building.
- Extreme weather conditions may cause an event to be suspended or sometimes canceled, depending on the expected duration.
- If an event is canceled, and you have not made any competition runs, you will not be charged an event fee. Unfortunately, if you have made any competition runs, we must still charge an event fee.
- MANDATORY NOVICE COURSE WALK
- A “Novice Course Walk” is mandatory for all novices; all other drivers are welcome.
- This course walk will be conducted by one of our Senior Novice Instructors
- This course walk will typically take place at about 8:45 AM, starting near the course start line. Check the event specific schedule for exact times.
- Arrive early enough such that you can Check-In with the Registrar and get your car Tech Inspected by 8:45 AM.
- It is best to arrive no later than 8:00 AM to give yourself time to Check-In, get your car Tech Inspected, and to walk the course one or more times.
- Depending on several factors, the registrar may or may not allow registration or check-in after registration is closed (8:45 AM). If the registrar allows late registration/check-in, a $10 late fee will be imposed.
- Novices: Be finished with check-in and tech inspection by 8:45 AM, as a mandatory Novice Walk Through of the course begins at 8:45 AM at the start line with an instructor.
WORK ASSIGNMENT SELECTION
- If you are a novice, you must select the Corner Station work assignment.
- Only select Solo Safety Steward if you are a current holder of an SCCA SSS License.
- Only select any waiver position if you have an annual (or greater) SCCA membership.
- All work assignment selections are considered REQUESTS. All attempts will be made to honor your requested work assignment; however, we must balance the personnel available per heat based on the class groupings per heat.
- Special needs should be communicated early (two or three days prior to the event) via an email to CfrSolo2@gmail.com with the event name and “Work - Special Request” in the subject line.
- Special need examples include, but are not limited to:
- An ailment that prevents you from replacing cones.
- An ailment that prevents you from standing for the duration of a heat (a heat is typically an hour and a half).
- A personal need that requires you to leave the event early.
- Permanent special needs (i.e., arthritis, other physical impairments) once established with the event organizers, need not be re-communicated for each event.
- Not including the legitimate permanent special needs, Special Requests should only be requested under rare situations, as it greatly increases the difficulty of doing run/work orders and worker assignments with many Special Requests.
- Special need examples include, but are not limited to:
Junior Driver Policy
- Unfortunately, the SCCA National Office has cancelled the Junior Driver program. No junior karts will be permitted to participate at this event.
- All vehicles must pass technical inspection which includes but is not limited to:
- Tires are not damaged and do not show cord.
- Wheels are secure with all lug nuts present and properly torqued.
- Battery is secure.
- Body panels are secure.
- Brakes work with firm pedal.
- No loose items are present in the car.
- Vehicle must not be on the “Excluded from Street Category for reasons of Stability Per Section 3.1" list of the 2023 SCCA® National Solo® Rules.
- For cars not specifically excluded on the above list, or specifically included in Appendix A, to be eligible, the vehicle must comply with the Stability requirements of Section 3.1 of the 2023 SCCA® National Solo® Rules.
- Novices must register in either Novice Street (“NS”) or Novice Race (“NR”) class depending on whether you are on street tires (i.e., treadwear marked on the tire as 200 or higher) or race tires (i.e., no marked treadwear, or treadwear < 200).
- Novice registration is required/permitted for the first three events for those drivers with no autocross/solo experience. After three events, you should register in the appropriate regular class. If you have experience with other clubs you do not need to register as a novice.
- For modification allowances respective to each category, see Sections 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 of 2023 SCCA® National Solo® Rules, which define the classing categories, and the allowable modifications in each category.
- Cars that are near stock will generally fall into Section 13 “Street Category”.
- If you have modifications to your car, work down the sections from Section 13 to Section 19 to find the category that accommodates all of your car’s modifications.

- And… just ask one of the event officials, and he/she will either help you determine your class, or point you to some other official that can do that.
- All drivers must wear a SNELL 2010/2015/2020 (M or SA) approved helmet. Other European standards are also accepted. See 2023 SCCA® National Solo® Rules.
- Loaner helmets are available but depending on usage may not be properly sanitized from COVID. If this is a concern please bring your own helmet or arrange with us in advance.
- Our general sound policy will be the same as for SCCA Solo National events. The general limit is 100 dBa at 50 ft where the vehicle is expected to be at its loudest. See Appendix I of the 2023 SCCA® National Solo® Rules for details.
- The exact implementation for our regional events will be somewhat different in that we will generally not have a dedicated sound position. If, in the opinion of the event officials, any vehicle might be in violation, the sound level for that vehicle will be measured on its next run, and the SCCA National rules will be imposed.
- Note: Directional exhaust tips aimed laterally away from the sound measurement station DOES NOT constitute a viable remedy, although directional exhausts may be used to aim the exhaust straight up, straight down, or straight back.
- With our move to MotorsportReg.com for registration, we will authorize your credit card at the time of registration, but we will only charge your card after the event has completed.
- If you cancel your registration prior to registration cutoff on Motorsportsreg.com, (7:00 PM two days prior to the event), you will not be charged.
- If you cancel after that time, or do not show up for the event, you will be charged a fee of $10.
X Class (Expert Class, Not to be confused with eXtreme Street Classes XSA and XSB)
The X Class was created for those drivers seeking to run directly against other drivers that have chosen to run in the X Class and using PAX to determine the trophy and points winners. This class is intended for more accomplished and Nationally competing drivers who are looking for a more difficult challenge than they are receiving in their respective regional open classes.
The 2023 rules for the X Class are as follows:
- X Class drivers will normally drive in the same heat, although for logistical purposes and in order to accomplish work assignments, they may drive in heats other than their assigned heat.
- X Class drivers will receive trophies and year end points based on their PAX time relative to other X Class drivers.
Special Considerations and Allowances
- Course “Check Runs”
- The course designer or other cognizant event official, is allowed/encouraged to make check runs of the course to look for safety issues, and course “visual” issues.
- If the check-run driver is also a competitor, these runs should, if reasonably possible, be taken in a car dissimilar from the car the check-run driver will be competing in.
- Check runs are necessary and specifically allowed. That is, no protests will be allowed against the check run driver for making these extra runs.
- Instructor Runs
- Depending on the class heat assignments, it is inevitable that instructors will sometimes be driving student cars prior to their competition runs.
- Instructor runs are not to be made at “Ten-Tenths”. Instructor runs should be made at a level appropriate to instruction of the particular novice driver.
- IF the instructor is driving a more experienced drivers car, and the “student” has asked for a “Ten-Tenths” run to find out “what the car can do”, this must not be done prior to the instructor’s competitive runs. This kind of instructor run usually should be reserved for “fun runs”, but always after the instructor has completed his/her competitive runs.
- Instructor runs prior to their competitive runs are sometimes unavoidable. These runs being necessary and for the benefit of the Novice or less experienced drivers, will be allowed. That is, no protests will be allowed against the Instructors for making these extra runs.
- CFR SCCA Event Officials
- Those participants doing work for the event that prevents or disrupts their normal competition timeline are given special allowances.
- For instance, they can walk the course during the Driver’s Meeting.
- They can make their runs in a different heat than their assigned run heat or even spread their runs across multiple heats if necessary.
- In the interest of competitive fairness, it is expected that use of this “heat flexibility” privilege will only be used when necessary for accomplishing necessary event work, and never for the purpose of gaining any competitive advantage.
