Black Hawk Trails Tour Rally

Join your fellow Auto enthusiasts for this 100 mile time-speed-distance Regional Tour RoadRally using the Rock River valley countryside with its rich history of Chief Blackhawk and the Sauk Tribes. This rally will use the (Free) Richta GPS checkpoint app. Contestants will download the app to their smartphone in advance of the rally. During the rally this app will use the GPS signals and automatically record your arrival time at each checkpoint and then display your score to you!! No more waiting until the rally is over to find out how you did. A bonus feature of this Richta GPS checkpoint system is that we can provide you with many more checkpoints and more challenging checkpoint locations. Contestants will need a smartphonein order to run this event. If you're planning to run another rally app during the event, you'll need to do that on a separate device. The Richta GPS checkpoint app needs to be the only app running on your phone during the rally. This is a straight down the road tour type rally, so there are no tricks, traps or unpaved roads on the BlackHawk Trails Rally.

Starting location: The “SWEET BASIL CAFÉ” 2408 S. Perryville Rd, Rockford, Illinois 61108 (Just off of I-90 & I-39) Pre-registration is required for this event.

Contestants who are not an SCCA members individually may purchase a Weekend membership (Cost: $20) additionally to this rally registration, or a Trial membership (Cost: Free) that will be available there at the rally Check-in. The cost of a Weekend membership may be applied toward a full membership if applied for within six (6) months, however it is just that - it's good for that weekend only and is a one (1) time use only. The (Free) Trial membership is only available for a one (1) time use only, and additional future events would require a Weekend membership or a full SCCA membership.

$40/car - Only two (2) competitors per car, and both members of the rally team must have an SCCA membership (full, weekend or trial)

Contestants who are not an SCCA members individually may purchase a Weekend membership (Cost: $20) additionally to this rally registration, or a Trial membership (Cost: Free) that will be available there at the rally Check-in for first timers.

Event requirements: Contestants will be asked to enter in one of these four Classes:

Class E (Equipped) There are no restrictions on calculating equipment in this Class.

Class L (Limited) / Class G (GPS) Combined: (Limited) Distance information is derived from sources other than the vehicle’s stock odometer. Manually adjustable odometer mileages taken from speedometers, whether electronic or cable, using pulses generated by the movement of the vehicle (e.g. electronic inputs, or magnets mounted to the wheels or drivetrain of the auto, or GPS devices). Calculating devices are limited to those that require manual entry of the distance information (e.g. Curta calculators, rally tables, laptop computers, electronic APPs, programmable and non-programmable calculators). Readouts that continuously show the difference from either the perfect time or the perfect distance areprohibited. (GPS) All distance information must be derived from a GPS source. Calculating devices may be any electronic device (e.g. Simple Rally Computer type APPs and a GPS-Pulser) providing distance input to a Rally computer.

Class S (Stock) Any distance information used for timing calculations must be visually acquired from the vehicle’s stock, non adjustable odometer in the stock location. Any calculating device (e.g. rally tables, non-programmable calculators) may be used as long as the distance information from the vehicle’s stock odometer is manually entered. GPS odometers may be used in this Class only if their information is NOT used for any timing calculations that determines real time earliness or lateness.
