Join us for a beautiful 70 mile mountain drive to Floyd. Leaving from the home of Gary and Julie Roach in SW Roanoke County, we will take back roads to Ferrum, then Woolwine to take Route 8 up to Floyd. Lunch will be available at Gather Restaurant, 227 N Locust St, Floyd, VA.
After lunch you’ll be on your own to drive back from there. Of course, you can always walk around and explore the town of Floyd before heading home. See the Visit Floyd VA website for some ideas.
Meeting at 9:00 am at 6846 Briar Ridge Circle, which is just off Cotton Hill Road . Be ready to depart at 9:30am. Coffee and a bathroom will be provided at the start; the 1.5 hour drive has no obvious bathroom stops along the route.
No navigator needed. For those who want the route and turn by turn directions can download the Rallista app a link will be sent to you. Reply to this message with any questions.

Event requirements
All participants are required to complete the event waiver to be able to participate. The Speed Waiver is preferred as eliminates paperwork and saves time at the meeting point. And, yes, all adult participants can complete a Speed Waiver (no-account required). Upon registration you will receive a message and link to the Speed Waiver. Be sure you and all other adults in your vehicle complete the Speed Waiver too. Paper waivers will be available at the starting location on-site as an alternative, but may delay an ontime departure. Those under 18 will require paper waivers to be completed by the parents before the departure time, so arrive early.
