BMC Rally III - Back To The '60s Rally

Classes: TSD - but designed as a primary lesson in running a Time / Speed / Distance rally (please see below)
Cost: FREE! We want to introduce automobile enthusiasts to a fun type of motorsport with a long, rich history. All BMC rallies are free for the 2017 season.

Description: A traditional TSD rally that harks back to the way rallies were run in the 1960s. There will be one average speed. Mostly Do It Yourself checkpoints, with a couple of observed checkpoints included.
Driving instructions will range from easy to moderately difficult. There will be some “after” instructions and a few “follow” instructions and an occasional picture instruction. Mostly it will be an enjoyable drive through the countryside with an element of competition included.
As an additional attraction we plan to make this rally a primer on how to run a TSD rally. We will include timing instructions telling you how to calculate your checkpoint arrival times within the driving instructions. So if you want to learn more about TSD rallies, please plan to attend.
The rally route is in northern Delaware and southeastern Pennsylvania. The course is approximately 50 miles long and will take about 2 hours to complete. All roads are paved although a couple may be bumpy in places.
The event will start at the large “Greenville Center” sign at the intersection of Kennett Pike (Rt 52) and Buck Rd. Registration will open at 1 PM and the driving instructions will be handed out at registration and cars may leave at 1:30PM. The finish will be at the Brandywine Brewing Company
approximately ½ mile from the start.
Event requirements
- All street legal cars are welcome to compete. Each car typically requires a 2-person team of Driver and Navigator.
- Navigators do not need to preregister separately.
- General Instructions and Route Instructions will be provided at the event, or shortly before.
