Drive & Dine to Big Cork Vineyards, Rohrersville, MD
Our Fall drive combines some of the best things in life into a single day event – a scenic ride in your favorite car, the beautiful colors of fall leaf season, delicious wine and food and Porsche friends. Our drive will start at a location near Ashburn, VA where we will meet at 10:30, receive a brief safety reminder and organize into drive groups. While driving to Big Cork Vineyard in Rohrersville, MD, we will drive through Virginia wine country and pass nearly a dozen Virginia wineries for your trip home from Maryland. Once at Big Cork, we will enjoy spacious parking facilities and a reserved covered event facility that will keep us dry regardless of the weather.
We have the facility reserved for 3 hours. Current COVID restrictions at the winery will only allow up to 48 folks for social distancing, but we will have plenty of open-air ventilation. Wine tastings are not being conducted outside at the time of this writing and might change, but bottle purchases will be available at the covered facility. See the Big Cork website here for selections and pricing. Their wines are wonderful and easy to drink. Included in the cost of the event will be a delicious gourmet box lunch that allows for grazing while sipping wine and offers components that are easily traded or shared. We will need to release control of the covered facility by 3:30 PM but you can continue to enjoy the winery at the adjacent seating area. If you stay beyond our event, bring lawn chairs in case all tables are filled.
Food Options:
Due to COVID we are offering one gourmet box lunch option for all participants.
Our box contains:
- One Muffaletta Knot with capicola, mortadella, salami, pepperoni, mozzarella, provolone, greens, roasted tomatoes, pimento, caper & olive relish and herb vin drizzle
- One Pumpernickel Bread Knot with shaved chicken breast, avocado, dill havarti, greens and herb mayo
- One half bistro salad with mixed greens, cabernet poached pear, red grapes, candied pecans, crumbled blue cheese and balsamic dressing on the side
- ONE Refreshing small fruit cup
- Chocolate Brownie
- One bottle of Dasani water
COST:
$40/per person, paid at registration for the event
Wine purchases at Big Cork will be at your own discretion on the day.
Event requirements
PLEASE NOTE NEW PROCEDURES FOR 2020:
We will be departing from a location near Ashburn, VA (precise rally point will be shared the week before the event). A COVID-19 waiver will need to be signed online, as well as our moving-event waiver (electronic version of the paperwork you signed at the rally point) as well as a waiver for children as needed. Information on how to do this will be emailed to you prior to the event.
All Driver briefings are now online the week prior to the event. They are MANDATORY for ALL participants, drivers and passengers alike. We will electronically provide you the latest Drive & Dine Rules, maps, and directions which you will be responsible for printing as needed. Please advise in advance if you do not have a printer and we will make a hard copy as needed for you.
Members are encouraged to bring a Porsche, but may bring an interesting, alternative, but suitable vehicle.
APPLICATIONS/ACCEPTANCE
- This event is limited by destination capacity, so please register early if you want to join us.
- PCA Potomac Drive & Dine rules will be followed for the safety of all participants. (Discussed at the Driver's Briefing). Watch the website for revisions.
- We will notify you of your status by email. You are responsible for updating your profile in the MotorsportReg.com website to include your current contact information.
- We initially list all registrants as “confirmed” for this event. When needed, we will change your status as soon as possible. We will provide formal notification of acceptance into an event by email prior to an event. If you haven’t received any notification, check the MSR website for your status.
- IF YOU CAN'T PARTICIPATE, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CANCEL.
PAYMENT
- PCA Potomac accepts only credit cards for payment. You are responsible for maintaining VALID CREDIT CARD INFORMATION in your profile.
- Payment will be collected upon registration.
- Billing problems result in notification by email with limited time to resolve the issue due to the short billing period. If the issue is not resolved, we may cancel you from the event.
- Credit card and billing information uses secure connections and is protected by MotorSportReg.com. You are the only person who has access to your card number. We only see the last four digits for billing purposes.
CANCELLATION
- If you must cancel, please be courteous and cancel as soon as you can in order to allow others from the waitlist to attend.
- If you cannot cancel online, you must notify the Registrar by email and receive an ACKNOWLEDGMENT by email to verify that you have canceled.
REFUND
- Please cancel up to one week prior to the event for a full refund.
- No refunds will be approved within one week of the event date.
- Contact the D&D Chair to discuss special circumstances. THE D&D CHAIR IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAN AUTHORIZE A REFUND OR CREDIT FOR AN EVENT.
- If you are authorized a credit for an event, you must use it before the end of the calendar year. We will not carry credits over into the following year. Credits may only be used for other PCA Potomac events. They can't be used for other clubs who also use motorsportreg.com.
