Azusa to Maloof Tour

Azusa, CA

About this event

Begin with a scenic mountain drive from Azusa to Crystal Lake, along Glendora Mountain and Glendora Ridge Roads, down Mount Baldy Road to Ontario and Rancho Cucamonga.

Sam Maloof was one of the most respected furniture makers of the 20th century.  His rocking chairs were highly esteemed by both Presidents Reagan and Carter.

His home was hand built by Sam and his assistants over a period of 40 years and reflects Sam's love of finely crafted wood, right down to unique hand-crafted wooden latches and hinges on the doors.

Everyone is welcome to join us on the drive from Azusa to the Maloof Home, BUT the Maloof Tour is limited to 30 people (a waitlist will be used as additional places may be added later). The drive is free, but the cost of the Maloof Tour is $20 per person payable through Motorsportsreg.

The drive on Saturday Oct. 21 begins in Azusa at the parking lot in front of the Skechers Outlet Store, 442 S. Azusa Ave, Azusa, CA 91702 for a prompt departure at 9:00am.  Proceed north on HWY 39 for a coffee stop at the Crystal Lake Cafe. Doubling back to the East Fork of the San Gabriel River, Glendora Mountain and Glendora Ridge Roads and down Mount Baldy Road there will be a stop at the Graber Olive House for a tour of their olive processing facility at 315 E. Fourth Street, Ontario, CA. www.graberolives.com

The driving tours ends at the Maloof Foundation, 5131 Carnelian Street, Alta Loma, CA 91701 for a "bring your own" picnic lunch. Let me know if you want to stop just before to purchase food or lunch "fixins". The Maloof tour begins at 2:30.

Due to the anticipated size of the event, it will mean that participants will be divided into groups. Each group requires a lead and sweep car. Are you willing to fill one of these roles?
Even if you are not a lead or sweep car, all members should be familiar with the PCA Tour Guidelines https://www.pca.org/resource/event-guidelines-tour

For safety reasons, Lead and Sweep Cars will use GMRS Radios set to Channel 7, Sub-channel 20. If you have on, please bring it.
