About this event

Instructors, Brush up on your Instructing Skills

The Allegheny Region Porsche Club of America (ARPCA) is hosting a PCA National Instructor Training Program in conjunction with Pitt Race and you are invited to attend.

  • When: March 29, 2013
  • Time: 8:00AM to 3:45PM followed by a cook out at the track
  • Where: Pitt Race
  • Cost: $100 per National Instructor Candidate

Have you been thinking about how to provide more value to your students when you are instructing?  Looking for an opportunity to brush up on on-track coaching?  This event co-hosted by ARPCA and Pitt Race is just the opportunity!

Why PCA National Instructor Training?

Around 10 years ago PCA started an instructor training program in support of our regional Driver’s Education program.  As DE’s have continued to gain in popularity, stronger instructing and in-car coaching have become more valuable.  Each National Instructor Candidate is evaluated at the end of the program and, if successful, will be added to the Nationally Trained Instructor list.   This is recognized by PCA and some regions as a milestone in the development of our instructor corps.

What is the format of the event?

The program consists of four classroom sessions and four on-track sessions where the National Instructor Candidates’ role play with other instructors.

Everyone should bring a track worthy car. For this exercise, a quiet street car is better than a race car. This will promote a relaxed session with easy communication. Remember, you won't be going that fast AND the "mentor" will be driving the student's car - so the seating should be adjustable. Bring your communication device

Who can participate?

You must be an approved instructor for the ARPCA region or Pitt Race to register for this event.  If you are not currently an approved instrcutor for one of these groups you will need to talk with Bruce Graham, the Chief Instructor for ARPCA Region.  Bruce's contact in formation is: spoon951@zoominternet.net

There are only 50 spaces available and slots will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis.  We will establish a waiting list and fill it based on any cancelations.
