We take great pride in the quality or our High Performance Driver Education program and the dedicated instructors that make it such a great experience for our club members. It is your interaction with our members that make these events so memorable. It is the quality of your instruction that keep them safe and help drivers become more proficient. Each of us are constantly unique instructional opportunities as well as evolving technology. So, we all benefit from training, updating and a little coaching.
The AMR and RMR CDI Committees have prepared a unique and exciting refresher training event this year. We believe that training on the track, with other instructors, will be the absolute best way to hone our instructional skills and to improve the quality and consistency of the instruction provided in our HPDE program.
You are officially invited to participate in our INSTRUCTOR ONLY HPDE!
We will begin the day with a brief session on instructional technique and pro tips. This interactive session will be presented by the CDI Committee and will give you a chance to get answers to your questions, learn from other instructors and get the latest updates. Specifically we will be focusing on the 'Art of instructing' and exploring ways we can help our students develop their driving skills more safely, more effectively and more consistently.
THEN......we GO HOT!
We will spend the rest of the day on the track. We will run this as a PCA HPDE. The difference is; ONLY INSTRUCTORS ARE INVITED to this event. So, there will be expanded passing the entire time. Per HPDE Minimum Standards, only instructors are allowed to ride in cars on the track - everyone at this event is an instructor so.... anyone can be a passenger in any car! Normally when we attend an HPDE we are too busy teaching and then driving our own cars to get anyone to ride with us. And, we seldom ride with other instructors. So, it is possible for US to reach a plateau in our own driving development. Most instructors appreciate having another instructor ride along and offer coaching to them. We can all learn something by having a qualified coach in the car with us and wouldn't we all like to improve our own driving?
We will take session breaks to gather together and share our 'lessons learned' before we commence another track session. This will also give our steeds a chance to cool down and catch their breath. At the end of the day we will gather for a little refreshment and swap some stories before heading home to prepare for our season.
The BEST News is that your Board of Directors supports your efforts and encourages you to continue with your development as an instructor so, they have agreed to underwrite this event. We will all contribute $100.00 to help offset the cost of the track rental, corner workers, ambulance and medical professionals. And, that ladies and gentlemen is likely to be the best deal of the year for a full day of track time with the best of the best available to provide instruction!!!!! (Previous credits cannot be accepted as payment for this event.)
We are planning an informal gathering on Friday night at a local establishment that serves refreshments (details will be sent to registrants). So, if you would like to come down early we invite you to join us, we welcome your company and look forward to your contribution to the 'bench racing'. We have arranged a special rate for the "Porsche Club" at the Wingate hotel near the track. We have reserved a limited number of rooms so, act not to make a reservation. The address is 4711 N. Elizabeth St., Pueblo, CO 81008 and their number is 719 586-9000.
We are able to welcome a limited number of Instructor Candidates from other regions to the training program we will be running at this event. AMR and RMR will provide mentors for their Instructor Candidates, any Instructor Candidates from other regions will need to bring a mentor with them. Instructor Candidates must send a separate email to the event chair identifying themselves and their mentor so we can provide additional information about that program.

TECH Inspection – Pre Tech can be done up to to four weeks prior to the event. You MUST have your inspection done prior to the event.

*Please make sure you have your car numbers ready before you get to the track. (The registrar may need to assign numbers other than your customary permanent numbers)
**Please make sure you have your tech inspection form completely filled out and signed by a valid tech inspector/shop. This is a requirement from PCA National.
Must have for Driving: Helmet at least a SNELL 2015M rating (the club has some loaners), closed shoes, long pants (cotton or flame resistant).
