2nd Annual HPD - Adirondack Foliage Weekend Tour

Courtyard By Marriott Lake Placid

About this event

Experience some of Upstate New York’s best driving roads!

Join the Patroon and X Chapters for the 2nd Annual High Peaks Drive (HPD): a two day, 300 mile, driving tour of the Adirondack mountains against the backdrop of stunning northeast foliage.

We kick off on Friday night with dinner in Lake Placid. The drive starts early Saturday morning, and runs through Sunday afternoon:

Day 1 starts off with a sprint past the Sentinel Mountain Range, following a gorge carved by the Ausable River to the banks of Lake Champlain. We stop at Rulf's Orchard for some tasty treats before the tour of the High Peaks. Passing around the northern boundary of the McKenzie Mountain Wilderness, we start winding past the Saranac Lakes, Tupper Lake and Long Lake to link up with the ultra twisty Blue Ridge Road Scenic Byway before stopping for lunch at Paradox Brewery. After lunch, we head north to the the High Peaks Scenic Byway and up through the Keene Valley before ending the day in Lake Placid for a relaxing dinner. Along this route are several stops for fuel, and multiple opportunities for scenic photos.

Day 2 includes some of the twistiest roads of the weekend; a southbound blast by the Cascade Range and through the Keene Valley along the High Peaks Scenic Byway brings us to the Ticonderoga Circuit - a route designed to link several 'must drive' stretches of tarmac recommended by Patroon's local expert. After an intense 115 miles of connecting apexes, we wrap up the weekend with a BMW concourse event at Fort Ticonderoga that includes prizes, tours of the historic Fort, and lunch at the America’s Fort Cafe. Expect to head home on Sunday afternoon looking forward to next year's High Peaks Drive!

A special BMW CCA rate of $299 per night has been secured at our Lake Placid base for the weekend, the Courtyard By Marriott located on 5920 Cascade Rd. Space is limited and this special rate is only available to the first 15 Registrants who book a room at the hotel using our booking link (provided with your confimration email).
