Join us and Berg Performance on our first ever Multi-Day Off-Road Tour. This is designed for your Cayenne or Macan, though we will allow other 4-wheel drives as well. This will be a fun, but not technical, tour. We will leave Denver via I-70 over Berthoud Pass into Winter Park. We will be off-road between WP and Fraser. With a quick stop at the Safeway in Fraser for a bathroom break, we will head out on highway 40 towards Kremmling as we need to get to Steamboat in a timely manner. A short stop at the Subway in Kremmling for another bathroom break and lunch for those that want to order. Making use of some beautiful off-road scenic roads, we then make our way to Steamboat Springs.
Our first night stay is in Steamboat Springs at the Legacy Vacation Resort with dinner at Vaqueros (included in registration fee). The next day, we get up early and leave Steamboat Springs and head towards Riverside, WY where we will have lunch at Bear Trap Grill. We will then head towards Walden and our next destination, Jelm Mountain. A trip up Jelm mountain where there should be good views and an infrared observatory operated by the University of Wyoming. We should arrive in Laramie mid to late afternoon so that you can get settled and maybe visit some of the attractions in the area such as the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site. The Holiday Inn in Laramie is our last overnight stay. Dinner in Laramie will be on your own.
On day three, the Holiday Inn will provide breakfast. With a mid-morning start, as this day’s travel will be lighter and parts can be optional for those wanting to head back to Denver, we will explore the Medicine Bow, Vedauwoo area between Laramie and Cheyenne, WY. We will picnic at the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Monument off I-80 (bring your own lunch). The Medicine Bow, Vedauwoo area is a combination of prairie grass lands and forested areas and is an interesting part of Wyoming.
As we will be traveling in remote areas, you will want to bring a cooler for snacks, a picnic on Sunday, and cold water and other drinks.
This will be a fun trip with plenty of time to make new friends and learn more about your car’s off-road capabilities.
Berg Performance will be joining us on this tour to provide mechanical support and have some fun. They will surely be bringing one of their remarkable, modified Cayennes for the trip.
We are collecting money for the Colorado Shiba Inu rescue. They rescue and find homes for the Shiba Inu dog breed. For more information visit the website https://coloradoshibainurescue.org and please donate generously.
