2023 David Love Vintage Races

Sonoma Raceway

About this event

This event honors David Love, a vintage racing  icon and a vital part in the creation of CSRG. The wine country hills are still green, the track is in great shape and the DLVR is always huge for both competitors and spectators alike.  About 230 cars are expected, there is a great Saturday night party (COVID permitting) that is a must-attend event for participants & crews and the USRRC Trophy for sports racers and the Morton Cup for small Trans-Am cars are big attractions. Our always popular midday Mechanical Picnic, wherein entrants can swap cars with other (willing) entrants & tour the track at reduced speed, will take place, again, Covid permitting. As with our Charity Challenge later in the year this will also be a full, three day event, with practice and some qualifying on the optional Friday session.

There is no sound limit for this weekend. All CSRG-compliant cars (see Section III B, page 4, and Appendix A of the General Rules and Safety Regulations at <http://csrgracing.org/rulescsrg.html> for compliance requirements) are welcome, as are all drivers with current VMC member organization Medical Cards.

As of the posting for this event, spectators will be allowed.  However, at the time of the event, CSRG will follow current COVID restrictions imposed by Sonoma Raceway and local government.  Please see protocol at bottom.

Fees: CSRG requires all drivers be either a Full Racing Member of CSRG, or a Single-event Member.  Our friends from other racing organizations may choose the Single-event Membership for $100, but we encourage you to consider joining CSRG as a Full Racing Member ($175/yr) and enjoy the full benefits of membership throughout the year.  Full Racing Members of CSRG who haven't renewed their membership must renew at <csrg.motorsportsreg.com> before their race entry is processed.

FYI Registration is suspended at 6pm the Friday prior to the event. This allows for entries to be assigned run groups and the roster created; the board approves the roster; and, finally, Geoff Pitts sets the schedule so that, as much as possible, drivers with multi cars are not in back-to-back sessions.
