Central Carolinas Region 2025 Board of Directors Election

SCCA - Central Carolinas Region - Autocross

Nov 20, 2025 - Dec 31, 2025

The Central Carolinas Region SCCA is conducting its annual election for the Board of Directors. This year, three of the nine Board seats are up for election. The incumbents—Tony Wentworth, Ross Pendergast-Pedersen, and Joshua Elks—are each standing for re-election. In addition, one nominated candidate, Jacques Bene, will also appear on the ballot.

Each candidate has been invited to provide a brief statement outlining their background, qualifications, and goals for the upcoming term. These statements are included below.

Tony Wentworth

Candidate Statement:

Hello, I'm running for another term as a member of our CCR Board of Directors and would appreciate your vote. I joined CCR-SCCA in early 2002 and was appointed to the board later that year. I have served on the board for 22 years. I have been secretary for 3 years and served as treasurer for 17 years. I have been race chairman for road race, time trials and hill climb events. I have Sound Control Chief for both CCR and the Atlanta Region for many years. I am licensed as an advanced time trials driver since  2003. Please consider supporting me with your voted.

Thanks,

Tony Wentworth

Ross Pendergast-Pedersen

Candidate Statement:
My commitment to CCR began in 2009, leading to becoming a board member in 2020. My participation spans nearly all CCR autocross events, complemented by attendance at numerous national autocrosses and track days.

Since joining the board, I spearheaded the initiative to stabilize and strengthen the autocross program's financial foundation. I intend to continue to leverage this experience in fiscal management and program revitalization across all CCR offerings, safeguarding the club's future viability.

One area I believe needs improvement is communication between the Board and our members. If re-elected, I will prioritize transparency by developing stronger, more direct communication channels. By reinforcing both our financial stability and our internal dialogue, I am confident CCR can achieve meaningful growth across all disciplines.

Joshua Elks

Jacques Bene

Candidate Statement:

Hello, I'm Jacques if you don’t know me you’ve probaly heard me yell or know me by my cars. I’m 27 years old and have been autocrossing with CCR for over 8 years now. My current car is a 93 Miata known as Buiscut which is currently under the knife, you may also know me by my 83 Iroc Camaro. I’ve been competing nationally now for just over 4 years and there is no plan on stopping any time soon.

I’m a very prominent member of CCR, from racing to volunteering. I’m always willing to lend a hand wherever it is needed and help to the best of my ability. I absolutely love the family that I've been welcomed into here at CCR, it is this very family that has inspired me to give back. I believe I can make an impact, which is why I’m running for the board. I want to offer a different point of view to the rest of the club. Considering my age and upbringing, I think I can incorporate new perspectives.

Both of my parents were road course racers in the early 1990s. I was born during their prime racing days. So to say motorsports is in my blood, I mean that quite literally. I had an SCCA membership before I was 2 months old. I want to foster an environment where we can encourage membership and generational racing. Racing is a family sport whether that be with the one you were born into or the one you're welcomed too. SCCA has been an outlet for me to pursue my passions, support my peers, and overall feel at home. As a board member, I hope to positively impact new and current members; I want to share what others have created before me and impact how we keep it going.
