2016/17 Motorsport Club of Ottawa Board of Directors

Motorsport Club of Ottawa

Nov 16, 2016 - Nov 21, 2016

You can cast your vote for Board members here, but we still need you at the AGM.

***********************

Who is Eligible to Vote?

Any member in good standing, with a valid membership is permitted to vote. This means that anyone who has a membership expiring on December 31, 2017, or later is permitted to vote.

How do I Vote?

In order to broaden the voter base to better represent a larger proportion of the membership, this year's voting will take place using the online election features built into MotorsportReg.com, the same system MCO, CASC-OR, and countless other Clubs use for event registration.  This change will allow a much larger of the Club's membership to participate in the election than what is possible through the approach used in years past. Voting opens here on November 11 and closes on November 20, 2015.

If you are unable to vote online, you can vote at the AGM. Please have proof of membership and identification with you.

If you can’t make it to the AGM, you can proxy your vote to another person using the proxy form.

Great, I'm all for Democracy, but what does this mean for me?

It means that you need your own account on MSR and that account needs to be linked to MCO membership.

If you've registered for MCO Lapping, Autocross, Snowcross, or Ice Racing in in 2014 or 2015, you surely have an MSR account. If you don't yet have an MSR account, you can create one easily at this page.

Once you have your MSR account, the only other thing you need to do is add MCO as one of your Clubs and enter your member number. We've provided a tutorial on how to do that here. Anyone who has done MCO Autocross in 2014 and 2015 is probably already covered there, too.

If you've done those two things, you should be able to vote.

That's a perfect world, but we've never done this before. How do I know some technical issue isn't going to keep me from voting?

Great question, but we have done this before. In 2015, elections were done this way and it went very smoothly. Nevertheless, problems can always crop-up so we're allowing time to deal with any that do: You'll have 10 full days to cast your vote. If you run into a snag, let us know at membership@mco.org and we'll get it resolved ASAP. When contacting us, please have your full name and your member number.

So when does the voting happen?

The Voting period is set for November 11 to November 20, 2016.

OK, maybe you've thought this through a bit, but when and how will results be announced?

Results will be known following voting at the Annual General Meeting on November 21, which will be the first time anyone will be able to see the results because of MSR's system access restrictions. We'll also post them to the website for all to see.

I have a question that you haven't covered. Who can I contact?

If you contact membership@mco.org, we'll get back to you.
