Introducing the 2022-2023 ARPCA Officer Candidates

Candidate for President Gus Vasilakis

Greetings, fellow Club members. I am honored to be nominated to become the next President of the Allegheny Region PCA. I currently serve as our Vice President and feel that I have demonstrated leadership and thorough understanding of our club committees and mission to earn your trust and this nomination. ARPCA is a very unique club. We are an outgoing social, philanthropic, and sports car club in one. I am supportive and commit to be an advocate and ambassador of our initiatives including breakfast, lunch, and dinner gatherings, public highway and race-track events, and charitable programs. We specialize in offering premium driver’s education and fun from safety, car control, and organized tours to access to world-class racetracks for men and women of all ages who own Porsches of all types. This is something that we have excelled in, in the past two years and I intend to lead the executive committee in continuing this into 2022 and 2023. I joined ARPCA in 2006 and have a few street- and track-specific Porsche cars including a pair of 914s, 944s, 986s, a 996 turbo, a 1972 Targa that is an in-progress restoration project. As a family, we quickly found ourselves welcomed and enjoyed every event we attended such that 16 years later, ARPCA events are a priority for us. I’ve enjoyed ARPCA DE events since 2007, and in 2018 I was fully prepared to attend a VMC certification class and obtain my vintage race license. Vintage Racing my 914 is an incredible experience and fulfills a childhood dream to competitively race a product of the great people I have met over the years from ARPCA. I have been an instructor for ARPCA and Pitt Race International for several years now and ensue this same level of passion from the right seat that others shared with me. In closing, there are important financial, legal, tax, and administrative responsibilities of the executive committee that I have experience with. I have served as an officer, including President, for many years on corporate and non-profit boards. Additionally, I’ve spent the past 2 years in the co-pilot seat here and have total confidence in my running mates and our ability to work together. Drawing on my past experience, I believe I can be a leader who can ensure the appropriate use of funds, foster growth, and membership engagement.

Candidate for Vice President Drake Core

I am humbled to be considered for the position of Vice President of Allegheny Region PCA. I have been a member of Allegheny Region PCA for 28 years and have been involved with many aspects of our club including Track Chair, Co-Chief Driving Instructor and for the past 2 year Secretary of our club. I have a passion for performance driving and teaching others how to get the most out of their cars. My wife Beth, was the treasure of the club for 5 years and both of us are passionate for the success of our club. We also enjoy attending many of the club’s social events. We travel to many professional races and always cheer on Porsches. My first Porsche was a 1983 944 and my wife and I have owned several Porsches over the years. I would appreciate your consideration for a Vice President of the Allegheny Region PCA.

Candidate for Treasurer Tom Uehling

We can all be proud of our club. ARPCA is an amazingly fun and well run organization. Our success comes from the dedication of the people who donate their time to helping run our many events. It's the people who make our club great. I've been Treasurer for the last four years and look forward to carrying on those duties. My goal has been to provide financial leadership so that we can make good decisions and our club can continue to offer exceptional opportunities and value for our members.

Candidate for Secretary Tim Gustafson

As a relatively short-term member of ARPCA, I am pleased and honored to be considered for the position of Secretary.  I became a member 3 years ago after purchasing my first Porsche (Panamera 4 e-Hybrid).  What a pleasant surprise to meet and cultivate friendships with so many great people in a very short time.  I attend as many social events as possible and attempt to attend the monthly meetings.  Although I do not track my cars, I enjoy going to the HPDE events and observe.  I got involved with the PVGP and served on the committee the last two events.   After learning more about the Porsche Brand, I realized I needed to give the Panamera a little brother and recently added a 991.2 Turbo S to the garage.  My career spans 35 years in the metals industry with positions in Engineering Management, Plant Management and Executive Leadership.  In my retirement, I find myself spending much of my spare time learning about our wonderful cars.  I humbly ask for your consideration for the opportunity to give back and serve our club which has become near and dear to me.
