Description: Overall it is easier to use one rulebook for most important race rules. NKA has already done most of the arguing to find the better rules, good idea to borrow heavily from that. Example – driving standards, helmets, safety.
Motion to change the following:
See attached. Hill Country Kart Club - NKA Rules.pdf
Remove:
-
- Section III. Karts
- covered in better detail in NKA rules - Section IV. Engines
- our rulebook says to refer to NKA - Section X. Driving Regulations
- covered in better detail in NKA rules with penalty options. - Section XIII. Race Officials
- move to a separate standard operation procedures manual, largely covered in NKA as well
- Section III. Karts
NKA rules can be found online via link displayed during registration, club website, and Rules — National Karting Alliance (nkaonline.com)
Keep:
- Section V. Pit Rules
- a few items in this section are unique to HCKC - Section I. Facilities, II. Drivers, VI. Pit Spaces
- Unique to HCKC - Section VII. Entries
- unique to HCKC - Section IX. Heat Races
- needs to be cleaned up and structured for our three-heat format
-- remove C. Starts (keep item #3 but needs to be worded for the current op procedure) - Section XI. Scoring, XII. Awards, XIV. Safety, XV. Rule Changes or Additions
- unique to HCKC - Section XVI. Senior Bracket Rules
- still used by the club when creating new classes, for example, used for Chonda, Briggs LO206, KA100, Rotax
