Event Preparation Guide
- Bring water! Even if it is not hot out, you will dehydrate quickly.
- Bring sunscreen! Even if it looks cold, it won't be by midday!
- YOU MUST PRESENT A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE at check-in. Learner's permits and expired drivers licenses are not valid. You will not be allowed to participate without a valid driver's license.
- If you have your own helmet, make sure that it is compliant with the rules listed in the "Helmets" section below. Rental helmets are also available for $15/day.
- Plan to show up early and check in at the check in table as soon as you arrive.
- After you check in, remove all loose items from inside your vehicle and trunk. The driver's floor mat needs to be removed (even if attached to carpet). All other floor mats can remain in the car. We highly encourage you to leave any unnecessary items not needed for the event at home.
- Move your car to the driver staging area (see information obtained at check in) as soon as possible. Open your hood and trunk to indicate to the tech inspection team that your vehicle is ready to be inspected, and place your helmet on the passenger seat. If your car passed tech, the inspectors will close the hood and trunk and place a sticker on your windshield. Otherwise, a note will be left on your windshield to follow-up with the Chief of Tech.
- Participants are responsible for their own belongings. If you bring valuables, please have someone watch them while you are on course. RMC BMW CCA is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- No racing, fast driving, or showing off in the paddock, staging areas, or on any of the access roads. Anyone found burning out or driving fast in these areas will be asked to leave the event without refund. There are no exceptions. Save your fast skills for the course.
- Spectators are allowed but cannot be in the "hot" area where the driving exercises occur.
- Bring your own lunch and drinks. There will not be time to venture off-site in search of food or drink
6:45 am - Instructor check in
7:00 - 8:00 am - Student check in
Expected end time: 4:30 pm
Helmets
As of January 1, 2020, helmets must be Snell 2015 or newer. Snell 2010 and older helmets are no longer allowed. Both full-faced or open-faced Motorcycle (M) or Special Application (SA) helmets are permitted. However, convertible or “flip-up” style motorcycle helmets are not. SFI 31.1 and FIA 8860 certified helmets are also acceptable. The club also has a few loaners available for daily rental for $15/day. If you plan to buy a helmet, we recommend that you read Bell’s helmet sizing guide.
Payment Processing
A reserve will be placed on your credit card when you register, but the charge will not be made until registration closes.
Event Cancelation/Refund
Should you find that you are unable to participate in the Car Control Clinic for which you have previously registered, please return here to cancel your registration prior to the event registration closing time. Doing so allows other drivers to participate.
Refunds will not be given for cancelations after registration closes, no shows, failure to pass the technical inspection, or equipment failure.
