CASOC

Summer Test 'n' Tune and Picnic

El Toro Fields - April 14, 2011

It's time again for the world famous CASOC Summer Test 'n' Tune and Picnic where your stomach shares the spotlight with you car.  In addition to a first class autox course designed by the CASOC team, we're planning on skid pad and slalom practice areas (space permitting), a place for kids to hone their skills in their karts, and of course the world famous CASOC food court.  OK, OK, maybe it's not world famous, but it is our tradition.  We're looking for a hundred or so folks to come out and join in the fun. We expect to get the usual 12 runs each, maybe more, though it's not guaranteed.

What to expect - For this event, we're going to try and keep work time to a minimum and fun time at a maximum.  With daytime highs averaging 73 degrees, the weather should be perfect.  The course will be fast and flowing.  Expect a run about every 15 minutes.  For those serious tuners, we'll be making special accommodation to allow your runs in optimal conditions by taking advantage of our "Make it a True Test n Tune" option.  And of course there's that fabulous El Toro grip.

There's going to be food - As proud supporter's of Cal Poly Pomona's PFM Team, we've enlisted thier help and they'll be bringing out the BBQ to provide lunch for us.  The BBQ will be open from 11:00 - 2:00 making it easy grab a bite without the need to wait in a long line.  While your lunch is included in the entry fee, don't hide your wallet just yet.  Any tips the team receiveds will go toward the team's expenses, so plese don't hesitate to show your support.

Make it a True Test n Tune - Need more time to tweek the car?  Want more time to talk cars or go on ride alongs?  Or are you thinking, hey, this is the weekend, I'm tired, who wants to work?  We've got just the thing for you.  For an additional fee you'll get a run anytime pass, priority access to the grid, and we'll cover your assignment.  Just arrive and drive.  What could be easier.   Select "Make it a True Test n Tune" when checking out.  But hurry....supply is extremely limited.

Make it a "NO WORK" practice - If you miss out on the "Make it a True Test n Tune" offer, PFM to the rescue.  For a small donation, one of the PFM team members will gladly work for you.  Just see the guys at the PFM BBQ to make arrangements.

Hey.....don't forget your water - It can get hot out there.  The night before, throw 5 or 6 bottles of water in the freezer.  Kept in a small cooler, you'll have a supply of cold water all day just in case.  But don't fret if you forget.  PFM will have extra water and soft drinks for sale.

When you arrive - Come through the main gate on Marine Way and turn right.  Follow the ORANGE POINTER CONES to our site.  Be sure to sign the event waiver at the entrance to our area.  Park your car in any open spot and come to registration for check-in.

No Overnight Camping - There is no overnight camping allowed on this site.  However, personal belongings, including vehicles, may remain overnight.  Everything must be removed by the time we leave on Sunday.  Neither Cal Club, CASOC, El Toro Fields or AMCI will be responsible for damaged, lost, or stolen property.

Driving directions - For for turn by turn driving directions to the event, just left click on the map to the right.  For those preferring to use GPS, use 6982 Marine Way, Irvine, CA 92618 as the destination.
