The Truth is Out There Road Rally
The Arctic Alaska Region of the Sports Car Club of America will be sanctioning the final event in the 2012 Summer Road Rally Series on Saturday, October 13th.
Seasoned Expert Class Rallyist Kim Ciccone will be the Rallymaster for The Truth is Out There Road Rally. It was during the Spring planning meeting that she stepped forward for the 10:13 date as it was a link to our beloved X-Files, and she taunted the teams during her FUBAR Rally in Feburary with a puzzle that gave us the name of her October rally! The Truth is Out There Road Rally is our last event of the season and it is going to be the longest of the Summer Series. This event will be layed out in the Matanuska Valley, and will be an eight-hour rally day!
The starting location for this 2012 Summer Road Rally Series event will be at Hilltop Haus, which is located just outside of Palmer. Teams will complete their Mileage Check prior to arriving. You do need to arrive at 9:00AM as you will need to take care of final registration matters, your vehicle tech inspection and more!
Don't have a dedicated rally partner? No worries—we encourage you to register and let us know you are looking for a Driver/Navigator! So please Register up so folks know you're looking for a rally partner. Online Registration for The Truth is Out There Road Rally closes Wednesday, October 9, 2013 so Rallymaster Ciccone can prepare copies of the route instructions and prepare her checkpoint packets. REGISTRATION and ENTRY FEES
We encourage all of you planning to enter this event to register here at http://www.alaskascca.motorsportreg.com. One of your team will need to register the vehicle and their position on the team (Driver or Navigator) and the other will need to register their position on the team and personal information only. The entry fee for this road rally is twenty-five dollars for an SCCA member of the rally team and thirty dollars a rally team member needing an SCCA Weekend Membership. All online entries must be made by 11:50P, Wednesday, October 9th and entry fees paid. Register today at www.alaskascca.motorsportreg.com and let her know that you're in! Given that she will have a 100-mile round trip — just to get to the location of her Rally — we had set a five-team registration deadline at Wednesday, September 19th and we are delighted that six teams stepped forward to make the commitment! Due to the nature of the motorsport known as Road Rally, Rallymasters must have ample copies of the Route Instructions and Checkpoint Slips prepared in advance of the event; there are no copiers along the highway! Any registrations after Wednesday, Ocotober 9th must be made through Cheryl at 243-2122. Yet why wait show your support to Rallymaster Kim and register up today!
DRIVERS LICENSES
Drivers must present a valid driver’s license. If under 18-years-of-age, competitors (anyone in the vehicle) will need an SCCA Minor Waiver signed by their parents (or legal guardians) and presented prior to competition. Contact the Region at 243-2122 or 745-2013 (9A-7P) to obtain a form prior to the event if parents are not going to be at the event to sign.
CLASSES and VEHICLE INSPECTION
The SCCA will recognize Expert and Novice Classes for this event.
Each team will be required to complete a Vehicle Inspection prior to the start of competition.
